Kamala's Own Magickal and Mundane Perfumery

Lately, we are getting a lot of requests for custom blending. If you can’t (or don’t want to) find your perfect scent from among our 590 offerings, we are happy to create something new for you. We have two methods of doing that.

For the Simple Blend, you can come into the store any time. We help you choose 6 ingredients, then we blend them for you in a 1/6 oz roll-on bottle. We keep the formula so you can get more any time.

The Personal Scent requires an appointment and payment in advance. I sit down with you and conduct an in depth interview to find out who you are and what the most harmonious scents would be for you. Then I blend a minimum of twelve different oils for a truly unique expression of you. You get a 1/3 oz (10 ml) bottle and an hour or so devoted to your individual tastes in scent. We keep the formula and you can get more any time. You can prepay for a Personal Scent at Kamala.com and then give us a call to make your appointment.

A few years ago, I made a custom scent for a regular customer which turned out so well I asked her if I could alter it a bit and add it to my inventory. She agreed and thus was born Harvest Circle. To me, this is the perfect cozy up to the fire as the nights turn chilly scent. It’s warm, spicy , and sweet with melty Caramel and Vanilla. We had discontinued these two incenses after seeing that they did not sell very well. However, apparently people liked them better than we thought they did. We have had dozens of requests to bring them back, so we have done just that! They are available once again at Kamala.com and in our Barrington, IL retail store.

In The Fallen, I try to convey a sense of someone who is usually well-behaved and follows the rules, but who has suddenly dipped her toe into the Dark Side. She is not remorseful really, just feeling wicked and curious to see what comes next. Her fall has been enjoyable, but she knows that there may be consequences which she is ready to face.

Death was made to express the light hearted yet deeply philosophical character created in the Sandman comic book series. Although its creator is seriously flawed, the work is still brilliant.
