Halter-bred Quarter Horses and cow-bred Quarter Horses use their muscles very differently.

Halter horses are built for size and power, often getting tight through the shoulders, neck, and back from carrying heavier muscle. Cow horses are built for athleticism, commonly getting sore through the hips, hind end, and rib cage from quick turns and constant engagement.

Equine massage therapy helps both by improving flexibility, relieving soreness, increasing circulation, and helping the muscles recover so they can move and perform more comfortably.
