5 Rules of Waxing Every Client Should Know

1. Let the hair grow.
Hair should be at least the length of a grain of rice (about ¼ inch) for the wax to grip properly.
2. No shaving between appointments.
Shaving disrupts the hair growth cycle and can make future waxes less effective.
3. Exfoliate regularly.
Gently exfoliate 2–3 times per week (not the day of your wax) to help prevent ingrown hairs.
4. Avoid heat for 24–48 hours after waxing.
Stay away from hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, intense workouts, and hot showers to reduce irritation.
5. Keep your appointments consistent.
Schedule every 4–6 weeks for smoother results, finer hair growth, and less discomfort over time.
