2 Strand Pony + Side Part 🤏🏾

I’ve really been letting styles speak lately, but it’s really more than just making locs look ‘cute’.

A good loc style should look good AND make sense for the locs underneath it. 🤎

For this look, we went with a high ponytail, two-strand twists + a defined side part — but the details are what really made the style.

When styling locs into a ponytail, I’m paying attention to more than just getting everything up and secure. I’m looking at how the locs naturally fall, the density, the strength of the perimeter, and how much tension each section can comfortably handle.

That’s especially important around the edges, nape, behind the ears AND the CENTER of the ponytail. Constantly pulling those areas too tight for a “sleek” finish can put unnecessary stress on the locs over time.

The two-strand twists add structure, texture & fullness, while the side part lets me intentionally direct the front instead of pulling every loc straight back.

And one thing I’ll always stand on: a style does NOT have to hurt to be secure. Tighter doesn’t automatically mean neater — or healthier 🙃

My goal is always clean parts, intentional placement, minimal tension & a style that complements the locs instead of working against them.

There’s a lot that goes into creating a starter set that will grow beautifully over time. Every section was placed with intention, every part was created with longevity in mind, and every loc was installed with care. ✨
