Last night, we attended the Emmett Township Planning Commission meeting, expecting to review our site plan for Isaiah 117 House. Unfortunately, due to legal action brought against the township by a few neighbors regarding our zoning, the commission voted to table the review. While this outcome was disappointing, we understand the reasons behind the township's decision.

We sincerely appreciate your prayers. Though the result was not what we had hoped for, we continue to trust in God’s sovereignty and His perfect timing.

I am especially grateful for God’s goodness. After leaving the meeting, I headed directly to our church’s fourth and final night of fasting and worship. Within minutes of arriving, the speaker briefly shared about the Greek word “hypomonē” (υπομονή), which means patient endurance or perseverance. It felt as though that word was meant just for me, though I’m sure it resonated with many others navigating their own challenging seasons. This word is found in Colossians 1:10-11 (NLT): “Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. We also pray that you will be strengthened with all His glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience (hypomonē) you need. May you be filled with joy.” Thank you, Lord, for your precious timing.

As we continue in this season of patient endurance, we are grateful for your ongoing support. Please keep us in your prayers as we strive to take the next right step, one at a time. And keep the mission and those it effects in your prayers, as CPS and foster workers are discouraged by the delays and the children in our community continue to start their journey into foster care in conference rooms and cubicles.
