I get this question a lot! As long as both parties are doing their part correctly lash extensions should not be damaging your natural lashes. Proper application and good aftercare are necessary for this to be true.
Also keep in mind your extensions should never feel painful, itchy, heavy, or any other sort of irritation and if they do they need to be removed immediately and applied by a educated/experienced artist.
