🌿🐄 GRASS-FED TALLOW vs. NON-GRASS-FED TALLOW — IS THERE REALLY A DIFFERENCE?

Not all tallow is created equal! 👏

When you see that Baby Soft Skin Care uses grass-fed beef tallow, that isn’t just a fancy phrase I slap on the label. There’s a reason I choose it!

🌱 Grass-fed tallow comes from cattle whose diet is primarily grass/forage. The animal’s diet can influence the fatty-acid and fat-soluble nutrient profile of the fat.

🐄 Conventional/non-grass-fed tallow may come from cattle that are finished on grain. It can still make a moisturizing skincare ingredient, but its fatty-acid profile may differ depending on the animal’s diet and how the tallow is sourced and processed.

So why do I choose grass-fed?

✨ Tallow naturally contains skin-friendly fatty acids like oleic, stearic and palmitic acid
✨ It creates a rich, protective moisturizer that helps soften dry skin
✨ I personally prefer sourcing grass-fed suet for the products I make
✨ And whenever possible, I source my suet locally ❤️

One important thing to remember: “grass-fed” doesn’t automatically mean a finished skincare product is better. How the fat is sourced, rendered, stored and formulated matters too!

For me, it’s about knowing what goes into my products from the very beginning. Small batches, thoughtfully chosen ingredients and products I’m proud to put the Baby Soft Skin Care name on. 🫶
