Butterfly Naturals
Learn. Style. Love your Kinky Curly Hair with our 4-Step System of Care Hair Products & Services! "A butterfly struggles sometimes for hours to break free.
The name Butterfly Naturals represents our journeys in accepting, learning and loving our natural hair textures. Similar to the development of a butterfly, once allowed to go through its struggle to break through its cocoon, a butterfly's strength is in its struggle. If someone tries to help the butterfly by cutting the cocoon, the insect will emerge but will not be able to fly and will die quickl

A 7th grader once told me:
“I didn’t want to raise my hand because I thought people would laugh at my hair.”
That broke me.
No student should feel silenced, invisible, or “less than” because of their crown. Yet bullying and microaggressions tied to hair happen every single day in classrooms, hallways, and playgrounds.
And while some dismiss it as “just hair,” the truth is deeper:
Hair is identity. Hair is belonging. Hair is confidence.
This is why I created the Love Your Crown student workshops.
In these sessions, I help students:
🌍 Understand the cultural pride and history behind textured hair.
💪 Build tools to advocate for themselves when faced with teasing or bullying.
🌟 Walk into classrooms knowing their crown is something to be proud of, not ashamed of.
✨ I teach students to reclaim pride in their crowns and I teach schools how to protect and respect them.
📌 October is National Anti-Bullying Month. Schools, this is the time to make hair equity a visible part of your anti-bullying efforts.
📅 I’d love to talk with you about bringing this to your students! Send me a DM or Email me at [email protected]

Can you believe it’s already October? Happy National Hair Day!! This month is also National Bullying Prevention Month which I’m super excited about!
Bullying prevention in schools is often missing one of its biggest blind spots: HAIR!
Did you know that over 50% of girls experience hair teasing in school and 45% of black girls experience hair discrimination. Regardless of race, gender, or socio-economic background, hair bullying, hair teasing and hair-based discrimination in schools is pervasive. Hair-based bullying and discrimination especially impact students' sense of belonging and self-worth leaving students to often struggle with anxiety and depression.
In 2019 the Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair (CROWN) Act was passed by Congress to combat hair-based discrimination, yet many school administrations aren't sure how to prevent or address these issues when they occur on a peer to peer level.
I’ll be working with schools, parents, and leaders to tackle one of the most overlooked equity issues: peer-to-peer bullying and microaggressions tied to hair.
My mission is to bridge this gap between policy and practice! That’s why I started the Love Your Crown, Grow Their Crown, Respect Their Crown 3-Part Curriculum Series and other curriculums. It’s all about providing students and families the social-emotional skills to reclaim their crowns and giving educators and schools the tools to respect and protect them!
My Hair Equity at School Curriculums is not just anti-bullying, it’s cultural awareness.
👑 Love Your Crown (Students)

Back-to-school braids shouldn’t mean breakage. Most of the breakage doesn’t happen while our daughters have braids in, it happens at takedown. Why? Because of lack of maintenance ➡️ Not washing scalp correctly➡️ Not moisturizing while the braids are in➡️ Skipping deep conditioning before/after and by the time the braids come out, the hair is dry, brittle and hair is snapping and breaking everywhere 😩 and then we put more braids right back in → more breakage. That’s why I’m hosting a small Braid Care Class at my studio (Springfield, NJ) on Sun, Nov 23rd 3–5 PM.I’ll be teaching girls how to:✨ Wash & cleanse while in braids✨ Moisturize + refresh styles so they last✨ Keep natural hair healthy underneath✨ Prevent takedown breakage They’ll even get their own CrownCare Kit (cleanser, growth oil, spray + tools).💰 $85 early bird until Sept 15 (then $100)⚠️ Only 12 spots first come, first served.👉 If you want the link, just comment “info” and I’ll DM you 💌 Visit www.butterflynaturalsloveshair.com for more info!

“Did you know? Over 50% of students experiencing bullying report lower academic performance. When it’s based on hair discrimination, the impact is even more profound. Let’s change the narrative. ”
