When patients come to see me about their profile, they are often surprised by what I point to first. It is not always the nose. Very often, it is the chin.

The chin anchors the lower third of the face. When it sits back, the nose can look larger than it truly is, the jawline loses definition, and the neck can appear fuller. Bringing the chin forward into proportion changes how every other feature reads, without changing who you are.

You will notice that none of these patients had a chin implant alone. That is intentional. I plan every surgery around the whole face, not a single feature:

💙 Adding jaw contouring refines the transition from the chin to the jaw for a smoother, more balanced lower face.

💙 Chin implant with rhinoplasty addresses the profile as a unit. The nose and chin work together, and adjusting both often creates more harmony than treating either one alone.

A few questions I answer every day in consultation:

Will it look natural? When the implant is sized and positioned correctly, yes. The goal is proportion, never an exaggerated or “done” look.

Is it permanent? Yes. Most chin implants are solid silicone, a material used safely in facial surgery for decades. Once healed, there is nothing to maintain.

What about filler? Filler can add temporary projection, but it requires repeat treatments and can migrate over time. For a significantly recessed chin, an implant provides structure that filler cannot.

What is recovery like? Most of my patients are back to normal activities within 7 to 10 days, with swelling continuing to settle over the following weeks.

UltraClear is a 2910 nm cold ablative fractional fiber laser used for skin resurfacing. It treats fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, age spots, uneven tone and texture, and acne scarring, and it carries FDA clearance for benign pigmented lesions and vascular discoloration.

What makes it different from older resurfacing lasers is heat. Ablative lasers work by removing damaged layers of skin so healthier skin replaces them. In traditional devices, a significant share of the energy becomes heat that spreads into the surrounding tissue, which is what drives most of the redness and recovery time and what made older lasers riskier in deeper skin tones. UltraClear’s wavelength sits at peak water absorption, and the manufacturer reports about 95% of its energy goes into precise ablation with only about 5% left as residual heat.

The device treats at three depths. 3DMIRACL works at the surface for tone and texture. The standard UltraClear setting reaches the upper dermis for more established wrinkling and sun damage. Laser Coring goes deepest and is used for significant acne scarring and textural damage.

What The World’s First Cold Fiber Laser does not do is lift sagging skin or restore lost volume. Resurfacing improves the quality of your skin, not the structure underneath it.
