I don’t usually post things like this, but I think it’s worth saying.

One of the most beautiful things about this industry is that so many of us share the same passion. We all fell in love with helping people feel confident, we all work toward similar goals, and we each bring something unique to the table through our own specialties, creativity, and experiences.

That’s exactly why there should be room for all of us.

The beauty industry has enough pressure without adding gossip, whispers, and negativity to it.

We’re all building something we’re proud of. We all have different strengths, different clients, and different journeys. There is room for every hairstylist to succeed.

Let’s make 2026 the year we stop tearing each other down and start respecting one another. Kindness, professionalism, and encouragement will always leave a bigger impact than judgment.

Hair By Chey is officially becoming Salon Opal! ✨

A dream that has lived in my heart since before cosmetology school is finally becoming a reality. I am so excited to announce that I will soon be opening Salon Opal, an independent chair rental salon in Waupun! As Salon Opal grows, my hope is to build a team of passionate, kind, and driven artists who are excited to grow their own businesses while creating something beautiful together. 🤍 Right now, renovations are in full swing, so the timeline is a little tricky, but I am crossing my fingers to open within the next month! 🤞 I promise to keep everyone updated as soon as I have an official opening date. Until then, all appointments will continue as normal in Beaver Dam.

This moment means more to me than I can even put into words. There were plenty of moments where I was told this dream was impossible, but I’m so thankful I didn’t let doubt write my story. I’m incredibly grateful to be living a dream I’ve worked so hard for. Proof that hard work, faith, and perseverance can take you farther than doubt ever will. From building Hair By Chey & taking the leap into chair rental, and now opening my own salon… this journey has been full of challenges, sacrifices, late nights, and a whole lot of faith. To every single client who has sat in my chair, shared my name, encouraged me, trusted me, prayed for me, supported me, and believed in me even when this was just a dream, thank you. You are the reason this is possible, and I will never take that for granted.

A very special thank you goes to my husband. ❤️ Thank you for working long days at your full-time job and then coming straight to the salon to spend countless hours helping renovate, build, paint, and bring this vision to life. I truly couldn’t do this without you. And to all of our family and friends who have shown up with tools, advice, encouragement, and helping hands—you know exactly who you are. 👏🏼 I am forever grateful.

This is only the beginning, and I seriously cannot wait to show you what we’ve done with the place. 🤍 Over the next few weeks you’ll start seeing some changes! A new page for Salon Opal will be launching soon, while this page will continue to be my personal hairstylist page, just with a fresh new look and name.
