When Nana’s history is a living memory. 👵🏼💕 We received an email that brought the biggest smiles to our historical apothecary. 🥼🧪💄 👉🏼A customer accidentally reached out (before morning coffee ☕️ ) I saw it was her first order I responded with some tips and tricks for our authentic 1930s Liquid Curl Set- and she responded with the best story! This daughter saw her mother’s vintage wave curlers and almost threw them out! But before she did, she asked her mother (a legendary 106-year-old Nana) who still goes to Bingo every single day. 🎲 👵 Nana knew exactly what they were which is why she purchased the 1930s curl set! To us, a 1930s formula is a fun original piece of cosmetic history. But to this beautiful 106-year-old soul, it isn’t “history” at all, its is a time machine 🚀 straight back to the formulas and products of her youth. ✨🥰🙌🏼 💚 Sometimes I think we forget that the vintage and historical recipes we reproduce aren’t just fun history and sensory experiences. They are the exact scents, textures, and products that our beloved grandmothers and great-grandmothers used to get ready in their day. We don’t just remake old recipes to put them on a shelf. We do it to keep these beautiful, stories and history of our everyday past alive.
