Hiking the beautiful trails for grounding,
Volleyball clinics and tryouts up to the plate,
30 ish hrs a week behind the chair creating beautiful hair and making lasting connections ..
Wouldn’t change this season for anything in the world right now.

We all have a spark, a drive, an innate desire to do more, be more, and sometimes that looks like… enjoying more of life, love, and FREEDOM..

This is my favorite season..
Being magnetic comes with great responsibility, yet it is the most attractive way to have a fulfilling life.

When my people are happy and thriving, I feel joy and peace that the Lord has allowed me to evolve for them and Him.
Soaking in the moments, being intentional , praying for protection and provision and being so grateful with how things turn out differently than expected .

If you are living to impress others, you are missing out on true Freedom.

Freedom has looked different in my 8 years as a salon owner..
It took a while in the beginning to establish a brand that people wanted to be a part of, a trust that it would be what I said it would be.

Training others was my passion,
I knew how to do hair well , all the foundations needed to help someone new get a good start.

I learned how to lead for others, teach as they needed me to and stretch/shift my own knowledge of “how to”.

I set expectations and intentions,
Opened up opportunities for more education,
Handed off my own clients, and then some, to grow others with care and so much purpose.

I wanted them to believe in themselves as I knew all things were possible, if they wanted it bad enough.

Sometimes I didn’t realize I was over pouring.. sometimes that caused a ripple in my system.

I knew that growing people, a team, a Salon and Spa was my initial dream. With renters and employees..

That freedom looked like, taking me from behind the chair ( some days only working two days on my own clients a week.) so that I could do that, I could be away from the salon for days and weeks after I had put so much trust and capabilities in the team to do as I could do if I were there.
I learned about finances in that time ( building up to a 250k income at my 3rd year)
Things shifted, people got excited to do their own thing elsewhere . I knew my limits after I didn’t think I had any..
It’s the hard lessons that really put things into perspective..
Gratitude and experience is what I want to share..

Freedom looks different now than it did in my first 6 years..

And Magnetically

I’ve been a little on the personal side lately. It feels a little more relevant than my professional, however what I have built professionally has allowed me to focus on my personal pillar..

I have 4 pillars that need tending to , some get a little more attention than others at times..
1. Family ( me and my daughter) and the relationships around that
2. Personal ( self growth and awareness)
3. Faith ( how I ground and stabilize in Christ and community)
4. Professional ( where do I need to nurture clients and Culture/ staff )

In our Magnetic Leadership seminar for Salon owners on October 2nd with the
talks about his 4 pillars in how to be a Magnetic Leader…

1. Lead yourself ( it starts with you!! Self awareness and humility lay here)
2. Lead others with intention ( invest in your people, communicate clearly and honestly, prioritize people over task, built trust!)
3. Build and Guard your Culture ( Create the space , set Boundaries, model authentically, protect it, release what no longer serves the culture )
4. Multiply your impact ( model growth, trust has been built, strong culture has been created, empowering, delegating …. Allows others to lead like you, in their own way..)
Leadership leans into consistency..

remembering WHY you started in the first place ,
Knowing when to shift, remembering who’s watching ( personal and professional )

What pillars are you leaning into today!! Or this season?

I’ve been taking on a lot of projects lately , but mostly the relationships I’m building with my new babes is what’s lighting me up!!

Being a salon owner can be hard when push comes to shove, steaks are high, emotions are all over the place, but can you ground yourself enough to remember the core of just being human?

Do you have systems that are attainable and clear, so that accountability can ensure growth and performance review stats?.

Are you transparent in your processes and products?

Do your people feel safe coming to you to share ideas, and concerns , recognizing the significance to foster a culture of respect?

I am human and have made mistakes based on my emotional setbacks, how I acknowledge and come back from what they caused is what’s important.

So thankful to have been asked to join in prepping for a beautiful celebration weekend ..
