Happy first Valentine’s Day as a married couple!

This picture is from our second year together, during our camping trip to Summit Lake. Every experience I share with you helps me grow, and my life is so greatly improved by your presence. They say life is about being with someone who makes you a better version of yourself, who you can be the truest version of your self with. You have helped me dig deeper into who I am and cultivate a garden worth expanding.

Each year has been a blessing, and I never could have imagined that meeting in a park in Beaverton would lead to the beautiful relationship we have built today. I love you, You have truly blessed my life, and watching the person you are with Aidan is a joy.

8 years (this August) in the making. You have been with me in the most trying seasons, seen me at the lowest lows and the highest highs. Through it all you love me more not less. We have summited mountains, hiked in meadows and valleys. People underestimate what they can do in a decades but overestimate what they can do in a year.

Here is to the many more years to come. I love you as you have loved me. Through whatever life brings us I will love you.

Shout out to my friend Jon Sanchez, his brother and son who helped it all come together I appreciate you so much.

9 years ago today my life changed. I was confronted with the reality that I am a father to a child and no longer the child of a parent. My whole life broke into pieces, then it reshaped around Aidan. I remember when he fit in my hand and wrist now he is way to big for that. Each year that passes I am shown a different portion of myself and my mortality. This last year he has taught me so much, one of the lessons I have learned from him is unconditional love another is perseverance. He has shown me through his actions and how his light changes anyone he comes in contact with. He also has stretched me in ways I never thought would happen. Every morning that I wake up to see his face I am remember of my Why and how I want to be an individual and not just another carbon copy. My son changed my life and does with each day that passes.

Happy birthday son I love you so much and watching you grow is the best thing to ever happen to me.

7 years, we’ve summited mountains, traveled up and down the west coast, learned the rhyme and reason of each other, camping trips, family vacations, learned each others pace in each season I can say my love has grown. It hasn’t been pretty and pink love and I truly do appreciate it. Thank you for being you each day, and being the best step mom you can be with each day. Happy seven year anniversary I love you.

Today marks 10 years since my dads passing, I remember that morning like it was yesterday. Ten years or self discovery and many questions for my passed father. 8 years of raising my own son and wondering how do I answer the question that I never got to ask my dad? How do I teach my son to be a better man than us both? How do I leave my son not wondering where he stands in this world as well as my own eyes. Grief never gets smaller, the vessel that carries it only grows. I can’t believe a decade has passed, dad honestly miss you and wish we could chat while I have this mindset not the one of my 20’s. I promise I’ll do better for Aidan because of what you and my mother have both taught me. Love you dad, rest in peace.

As I sit, and reflect on the last 30 years of my life, the ability to look at it with appreciation. I’ve had so much happen that’s given me the ability to form who I am today. I am excited to be where I am at in life and all who have taught me, dealt with me, loved me, pushed me to better and allowed me to form with each day. To those who are close to me I truly love and appreciate you thanks for being a part of my life. I wouldn’t be here without you.

Thank you to the educators posted with the post my career and knowledge would not be where it is without your guidance and lessons.

As my son told my girlfriend

“I’m a man of the woods.”

I play disc golf 4 to 6 times a week and I don’t know if I’ll ever stop. It’s such an amazing feeling to just have the sound of nature everywhere you go. The community I have found through barbering and disc golf has been has been the biggest blessing in my life.

Ever want to join me while I am out here DM me or let’s chat next time you’re in my chair!

I am grateful for all who have supported and all who will support in the future. This book was brought about because when I looked at my son after he was born and saw that he needed a dad who knew him, not a dad that knew of him. I realized I wanted to leave him something to understand my mindset not just stories slapped together from the mouths of people I hung out with.

I appreciate each and every client who read, or aloud me to read out loud chapters of this book and aloud me to bounce ideas with you. Those who let me go on about ideas and subject at functions, I thank you all for helping me piece it all together.

It’s available on Amazon in Paperback, hardcover and kindle. Check it out and let me know what you think?

Will you sculpt your future or replicate the paintings of another?
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Each choice that you make, is it like a stroke of your lives painting, you can find a new source of inspiration and ways of painting your life or repeating what has been taught to you by the people, relationships and events you’ve taken part in.

Your life is sculpted in the future by what you choose now in this moment. Living in the old lessons of the past is not somewhere I recommend living in. Camping is definitely better than living in the waiting place. If you want change you need to find it yourself instead of waiting for “things to play out” and seek out being the change you want to see in your current circumstances.
