To all of my dear clients:

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. I have a couple of news updates for you.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Schnitzer Properties will not renew the lease of our salon, nor will they rent to any other salons. This means we will have to gut the salon we worked so hard to build.

As many of you are probably aware, my family has been needing more and more assistance. With this in mind, I have decided to retire from electrolysis. My last day working in the salon will be Sunday, January 28, 2024.

I do not have any first hand experience with any current practicing electrologists, so I will not be making any referrals. It is my understanding that most practices have a wait list, so please do not wait until the last minute to call someone.

Many of you have become close friends and saying goodbye to my clients is the most difficult part.

I wish you all well and a very happy new year.

Warmly,
Carol

From today's continuing education:

Dr. Sancy Leachman, M.D., PhD, world-renowned melanoma researcher and chair of the OHSU Department of Dermatology, reminded us that Oregon consistently has one of the highest rates of melanoma incidence and death in the nation.

She recommended this Rit colorless dye as an amazing tool for fighting skin cancer.

Think about it. Are your kids in outdoor sports? Do you like to spend a lot of time outside hiking? Gardening? Working?

Do you have a spouse, like mine, that won't apply, let alone re-apply sunscreen? This product could really help.

It is NOT a substitute for sunscreen, but rather an additional tool to battle skin cancer.

Spending this beautiful sunny weekend in a hotel conference soaking up continuing education.

Our keynote speaker is Joanie Gonella, LE, CPE. Joanie has a BS in Neuroscience and a post-graduate certificate in Pre-Medical Sciences. She is a practicing electrologist and a certified dermapigmentation technician.

Perhaps her best credential is that she is the daughter of Johanne Fortier Gonella (practitioner, lecturer and instructor) and Jean Louis Gonella (electrical engineer, epilator developer and manager of Aesthetics). She is the best blend of both.

The Oregon Association of Licensed Electrologists has brought the best of the best for this year's conference.
