I was standing outside today, looking out over the green grass, the West Virginia landscape, listening to the birds—just a quiet, normal moment.

But as I stood there, it all really sank in.

The life we’ve built, my family- all of them- the love in our home, and now the blessing of getting ready to welcome our first grandchild.

It made me think about my grandpa—how much I loved and respected him—and how I’d be blessed to be even half the man he was. Now I get the opportunity to step into that role, and that means more to me than I can fully put into words.

I am brought a deep sense of gratitude.

It honestly made me emotional in a way that’s hard to put into words—just a deep feeing all at once.

None of this is something I’ve done on my own. It’s a blessing. And this season reminds me where that blessing comes from. Through the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we’re given grace, purpose, and a hope that holds everything together.

I don’t take any of it for granted.

Just incredibly thankful.
