Reading Kayla’s story truly breaks my heart. She is still so young, yet she has had to face so many challenges. I know she wants to keep trying, but sometimes her health makes it so difficult. I first met Ashley many years ago when her mom and her grandfather came to my salon. Later, Ashley started coming with her mom, and before I knew it, she became one of my regular clients.

Watching my clients grow through the years is one of the greatest blessings of my job. It’s about so much more than nails—it’s about the friendships, trust, and memories we build together.

She found our salon on Facebook and drove about 40 minutes to visit us for the first time. Even though she had to wait a little because we’re a walk-in only salon, she smiled and said she didn’t mind because she had been looking forward to coming after seeing our work online.

Debi had been getting her nails done somewhere else, but after seeing our work on Facebook, she decided to visit L.A. Nails Spa.

Today reminded me that kindness doesn’t always have to be something big. ❤️

This afternoon, Kayla stopped by just to say hello. She has been going through a very difficult time with her health and recently lost her job. She told me that one day, when things get better, she would come back to have her nails done.

We happened to have a little quiet time at the salon, so I smiled and said, “Stay. Let me do your nails today.”

I just wanted to give her something small to brighten her day and remind her that she is cared for.

Life can be challenging for all of us, but sometimes a little kindness, a listening ear, or a simple act of generosity can bring hope when someone needs it most.

Kayla and her sweet mom left with beautiful smiles, and honestly, I think my heart was the one that received the biggest gift today. 💕🙏

Today reminded me that kindness doesn’t have to be something big.

A mother and daughter came to see me today. They had both recently lost their jobs. The mom had worked at Toyota for about a year and a half before being laid off. But instead of giving up, she kept moving forward. She found two new jobs, and after only three weeks at one of them, she was already promoted to manager.

Her daughter had also lost her job at Honda, but she didn’t let that stop her. She found a new opportunity and is working hard to build a new chapter in her life.

While we were talking, I noticed the daughter’s hair had been cut at home and was a little uneven. I invited her into my waxing room and gave her a quick trim. It only took a few minutes, but when they were leaving, they both hugged me and said, “You’re the best.”

Moments like this remind me why I love what I do. Sometimes the smallest act of kindness can brighten someone’s day. We never truly know what others are going through, so let’s choose kindness whenever we can. ❤️
