Hello Everyone,
Please help us wish Gigi a HAPPY BIRTHDAY today.
Thursday, December 3rd, 2015 marks a one year birthday for our sweet, strong, faithful and loving daughter, Gigi. Psalm 118:24: "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it." Now I know why this has always been a favorite of mine.
Gigi is doing well and with each day that passes she feels more and more like her other self. Yes, she is one year out from her bone marrow transplant and is doing good. She has amazing doctors, nurses and techs that keep her focused and they guide her each step of the way. In the past month she has stated that she is having moments that make her feel like her self, before multiple myeloma. She misses everyone and wants you all to know that it she did not have all your prayers and well wishes, this path could have been alot harder. She is regaining strength little by little and sometimes pushes more that she should, but she is always looking into the future to regain enough to get back into the swing of things, like her Job and Life, she wants to get back to normal. This journey has given me the opportunity to get to know my daughter sooooo much better and I am truly blessed that God gave us this time to be with her. She is truly a fighter and has gained so much more than she has lost through this illness. She is cancer free and will remain doing what is necessary to get back to all that love her. Gigi, we love you and thank you for showing us that we cannot do this on our own, but "for we walk by faith and not by sight". Love you princess, Mom and Dad.

OK, so I have been bad not getting too much out but I will try and explain! Gigi has been doing well and better than she expected but yet she feels like she is complaining when she only needs to express what she is going through. She has remained optimistic and faithful and continues to walk by her faith and not by what she sees for the future. Up till last week Gigi has regained some strength and was hopeful of renewing her career and getting back into the swing of things, then the setback reared it's ugly head. There have been some obstacles in the last two weeks that have put a halt to her feeling good attitude. Due to the medicines she now has sugar to work on, the first medication only made things worse so now it's insulin 3 times a day until she can get control. (Which may be a chore due to ALL the medications). Also antibiotics for another virus, which puts her in isolation at Moffitt but this too shall pass. Her request is that I make it a MAJOR POINT to tell each and every one of you how much she misses you. If you have bumped into her anywhere you can tell by the tears that welt in her eyes if you express missing her. This is a good thing though, she is always concerned for her clients (friends). I truly believe that if she did not have the salon and you to look forward to, this journey would have been alot harder. It is her love for clients, friends and co-workers that truly keeps her looking to the future. Please keep her in your prayers, as you have for these months, and know that she is pushing very hard to get back to you. Love to all!

Hello Everyone,
I hope you are all well and doing fine. I have not written anything and haven't given you all an update on Gigi in quite a few weeks. Well Gigi is doing great, she is in full remission, as she tells it "cancer free" and loving every moment. Her last 3 doctor visits have gone well, with only 1 or 2 minor concerns, but all and all is doing very well. She is doing all she can do to stay virus free, wearing the mask in public places, drinking only bottle water and resting when necessary. It was good to hear her tell us a couple of weeks ago that she can feel her body healing. Her hair is coming in VERY curly, and she is thankful for that, and she is looking forward to wearing some of Pink's do's. You know Gigi, if there is something funky to wear, as far as hair goes, she will try it. This really gives her a large canvas to work with at this time. She is steadily taking medications, and those pills that add the weight is now being tapered down. So the road to normalcy is looking brighter. Her doctor visits at Moffitt are once a month and they are all very pleased with her progress. To look at her it's hard to tell what she has been through, but seeing it with my two eyes, she is one positive, faithful and thankful trooper. She worked very hard through the treatments, labs and even having a port inserted for future treatments and labs. Everyone that has come in contact with her at Moffitt has seen nothing but determination and dedication to beat this. We don't realize until we see firsthand how a serious illness can take a toll on the patient, but then everyone has someone in their circle of life that is affected with some type of serious illness, please, you have all done such an amazing job with prayers and support for Gigi, please put on your list a few more, that me or you may not have names for. There are many, including friends and family, that are in need of prayers. Thank you all from Gigi and family for all your hard work and prayers, knowing that you are there is all we need.

Hello Everyone,
The day has come, Gigi's nurse called and gave her the news. She is cancer free, some may know it as remission but Gigi knows that she is NOW cancer free. 2Corinthians 5:7
Now she needs to stay virus clean for 3 months, well maybe 2 months now, and maybe then her doctor will give her the ok for work.
She misses everyone but will follow doctor's orders so that she can get where she needs to be to start doing what she loves, making her clients look their best.
All of your prayers are being answered day by day. Please keep the Moffitt BMT Team in your prayers, for without them Gigi would have had a difficult time with her treatments.
Through all of this Gigi has shown me what a faithful attitude can do, she never faltered and knew that God would carry her when she couldn't do it on her own. God is Good ALL the Time.
Gigi wants everyone to know how much you all mean to her and that she appreciates everything.
We, Rich, Glee, Frankie, Rich, and Trey want to thank each and everyone of you for all you have done for Gigi and us, it is very much appreciated. You have kept us strong. Hugs to all.

Hello Everyone,
There will be an OPEN HOUSE for Gigi at her brother Rich’s house, this coming Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Address: 115 Teak Loop, Ocala 34472.
He would like everyone to come by and welcome her home. Please pass the word.
The great news, Gigi is scheduled to go home this Friday, March 6th. As of her last appointment the doctor told her that she is doing well and could venture home. She told him that she will miss everyone at Moffitt so he said she could stay, but she said as much as she will miss them all, she wants to go home. She has counted the days and because of all that she has done is going home a week early. Due to summer cold season starting, he wants her to stay virus free for three months before returning to work, so please be patient. Gigi wants to thank everyone for the prayers and cards, it has meant a lot knowing that so many have supported her in this journey. Francesca is visiting for four days and then off to continue her education by doing her school internship in Bermuda, I know “poor thing”. Frankie has held her end of the bargain with her mom and is studying hard and progressing in her school work, so please continue with your prayers to include Frankie.
On a personal note: thank you for all you have done to help our family through this journey. Please remember Gigi’s inspirational quote:
2 Corinthians 5:7: “for we walk by faith and not by sight”
If you questions about Sunday, just send us a message through face book. Love to ALL.

Hello everyone, good news
Gigi is doing great. After her doctor visit today she is ready to fly high. Her numbers keep getting better, now that her BAD cold has passed. Her energy level keeps getting stronger each day, her taste is improving and her appetite is also on the rise. She has little chipmunk cheeks from prednisone and stated that she may get Botox in the lips to match, LOL, I told her that may not be a good idea, she would be all face. Her hospital visits were down to 3 times a week and now they have her in for 2 times this coming week. Also she will be getting the central line removed and will have a port inserted (installed) on Monday. That is a big step in the process for going home. We get out every other day or so and getting fresh air is a pure joy to her and we have had a few visits from family that helps to break up the week. She is doing well following doctors orders and hopefully it will pay off soon. Although the process has had a few bumps Gigi has been a trooper, with all the colors of the rainbow medications she has proceeded to do the right things to get her numbers where they need to be. Our hope is that you are all doing well; you have all given us the support that was and is needed to fight this fight. We know that everyone has a life to live, but making Gigi just a small part of that means so very much to her dad and I, more than words can express. Until the next update, thank you for caring and reading this update. Our love to all,

Good Afternoon to all:
Gigi is doing very well, but at this time has contracted a virus which resulted in a bad cold. She is still making daily trips to the BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) clinic for magnesium, due to her anti-rejection medicine dropping her numbers. If the magnesium was in pill form she would be taking 8 to 10 and her little pill holder is already busting at the seams from her daily medications. However, it is all good. She keeps us running but she loves to venture out after clinic. The weather was overcast when she was released from the hospital and has gotten better so she loves to be in the fresh air. She sure looks great. Her taste buds are still coming back but her appetite is getting better quickly, which she is watching with a vengeance. It is good to see her put on her makeup on the way to clinic so everyone will see her bright side. Everyone knows when Gigi is on the floor. Back 3 weeks ago we had to go into Moffitt for her to receive an antibiotic for swollen glands and her room became a revolving door with techs and nurses visiting ‘while she was in the house’. It is quite the journey and the road has been bumpy at times,
but Gigi keeps a great spirit and accepts her responsibility to take her medications and follow the doctor’s orders. She sends her love and wants you all to know that your prayers are working.
P.S. Update to the update, no more IV for magnesium, numbers are holding.

Hello Everyone,
I believe it’s time to get the pen to the paper and update all of you.
The 2 weeks and 4 days Gigi has been out of the hospital has come
with a few challenges. After a wonderful Christmas Day with family
she came down with cold symptoms. We made a late night visit to her old stomping grounds on the 3rd floor and received anti-biotics and sent back to the offsite residence. With daily visits for IV medication, which is normal, a slight cold and swollen glands, she has made a small turn for the better and we are hopeful that the scale will tip in her favor.
Now with those few little glitches out of the way she remains to be the trooper that she is and even has began to stay on time with medications, even though it took a visit with her amazing physician to keep her on track. Taking the medication is about the only thing that she has fought against but she does know that is her main job, as she calls it “the necessary evil”. Oh well, I need to apologize for the delay in getting this update out, Gigi has had post and I have had phone calls asking for some news, I will TRY to be more diligent. The time gets away from us so easily, just saying! Love to all and keep the prayers flowing for the only way we can face each day is to “walk by faith, not by sight”.
Goodnight.
