I hope this message finds you well. I want to share some heartfelt news — Kayla Hopson Beauty will be closing, and my last day of business will be Sunday, August 31, 2025.

This decision has not come easily. Doing hair has been more than just a career — it has been a true passion and an incredible journey. However, due to ongoing physical health reasons, I’ve made the difficult decision to step away in order to prioritize my well-being.

Words cannot express how grateful I am for your loyalty, trust, and support throughout the years. Being part of your lives and helping you feel your best has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I will deeply miss this work and, more importantly, the relationships we’ve built.

I want to take a moment to share some devastating news and spread awareness. Nicole Winans, the owner of the very first salon I worked at and someone I had the privilege of knowing and learning from, tragically lost her life on Friday, December 6th. Nicole was murdered by her husband in a heartbreaking act of domestic violence.

Nicole was not only a talented stylist and salon owner, but she was also a loving mother to two young children and a stepmother to another. Her children were the center of her world. Now, they are left to cope with the unimaginable loss of both their mother and their father, as their lives have been forever changed.

Nicole’s light touched everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to call her a friend. As her community comes together to support her family, we ask for your help. If you are able, please consider donating to the fundraiser set up to support her children during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re not in a position to donate, we kindly ask that you share this post to help raise awareness about Nicole’s story and keep her memory alive.

It’s hard to find the right words when your at a complete loss of words. This world lost a beautiful soul, amazing friend, stylist, daughter but most of all mom to her children. This tragedy has left all your loved ones in shock. The world will not be the same without you. I’m grateful for the opportunity you gave me 8 years ago to be apart of the salon envy family. Always allowing me the opportunity to return for a day or two when I would come home to visit. You took a chance on me and I will never forget it. Nicole I hope that heaven treats you wonderful. Your babies will be taken care of and will have the world’s greatest guardian angel watching over them, you their mother! I wish more than anything I could have been there tonight for your candle light vigil. Thank you for the wonderful 8 years of friendship and I will see you again one day my friend. Rest easy!❤️🪽

Subject: Important Update on My Hours and Availability

Dear Clients and Prospective Clients,

I hope this message finds you well. I want to share some important updates regarding my hours of operation starting November 1. I will be transitioning to a new schedule, offering services every Sunday and two Thursdays each month.

The reason for this change is that I have accepted a full-time store manager position at my other job. This decision comes from the need for guaranteed wages to support myself and my family in today’s economy. I want to reassure you that I am not stepping away from the salon or this industry. I truly love what I do, and my passion for styling and serving you will remain unchanged.

At this time, I will no longer be accepting new clients to ensure I can provide the best service to my loyal clientele. I am immensely grateful for your understanding and support. Thank you for your referrals and for being such an important part of my journey.

**Important Notice for Hairstylists**

I would like to share an experience regarding a close friend’s unfortunate encounter at a salon in our hometown over a year ago, which has since been a significant learning moment. During my visit home in June, I dedicated a day to address my friend’s hair concerns.

As a public service announcement to hairstylists, it is crucial to recognize that while our services are increasingly perceived as luxury rather than necessity, this does not diminish the responsibility we hold to our clients. The costs associated with hair services have risen considerably, and with that comes a heightened expectation for quality and expertise.

If you find yourself lacking the necessary education or skills to perform specific services, I urge you to be transparent with your clients. Additionally, if mistakes occur, it is imperative to take ownership of those errors. My friend’s experience has been an eye-opener, reinforcing my belief in the importance of honesty and accountability within our profession.

Ultimately, the reputation we build as stylists should take precedence over financial gain. Quality work and client satisfaction must always be our primary focus.
