✨Ambassador Spotlight ✨
Mona D move to Solstice with her husband in 2023.
Originally from Wenatchee, Washington, Mona and her husband spent 53 years in Olympia, raising their family. For her career, Mona started out as an elementary teacher, and then pivoted to being a correspondent coordinator with the state of Washington serving under Governor Gary Locke and Governor Mike Lowry.
Mona moved to Solstice to be closer to her daughter in Bellingham. She enjoys Solstice because she gets to know a wide variety of people.
“Everyone this age has had interesting life experiences. The staff is terrific and caring and interested in making our lives richer and as enjoyable as possible for being old.”
Mona enjoys being an Ambassador because she likes people, so meeting new people is right up her alley.
Fun fact: Mona is a WSU Coug, although notes that her son went to UW, so she supports them too…just not during Apple Cup! 🙂

✨Ambassador Spotlight ✨
Ed C moved to Solstice in 2020. He was originally born in California to two high school sweethearts and was born early at just 4 1/2 pounds.
Ed moved all over during his childhood going to four different grammar schools and four different high school schools.
Ed graduated during the draft - he graduated high school on Thursday and left for the Navy on Saturday, where he served two years.
After the military, he worked for IBM which he says stands for “I’ve Been Moved” - leading him to move to places like New York and Hawaii for his career.
Ed enjoys Solstice because it is safe comfortable and meets his needs. He enjoys being an ambassador because it’s the chance to give back to his community.

✨Ambassador Spotlight ✨
Mike V moved to Solstice Bellingham in 2023. Mike was born on January 4 in Tacoma, but was considered the New Year’s baby of 1949 as he was the first baby born at the hospital that year.
For his career, Mike was in the army for 27 years, serving 13 years in public affairs and broadcast and the last 14 years as a recruiter. Mike learned in his time in the military that five minutes early is on time and on time is late - he is safely the most prompt person when it comes to being at activities!
He enjoys Solstice because of the atmosphere and the people - noting that the people create the atmosphere.
Being an ambassador is all about meeting people for Mike. He enjoys being a part of the group.
