I had the cutest model today!! ❤️
She wanted short hair... And took matters into her own hands.

Her mom asked if I could help... I think we were able to get the best of both worlds.

Short in the front for her to look at, long enough for her soccer ponytail.

I made sure she ran her hands through it to make sure it's the length she wanted. Making sure she doesn't want to adjust it later. ❤️

I though I share but about me. I'm a mom of 2 adult daughter, a horse, 2 pups, and 20ish chickens.
You can usually catch me exercising my daughters' pups and horse... So sometimes it's 5 dogs, 2 horses and me wandering in a field after school.

Recently, this weekend, I have opened up another skill I have to the public, trimming barefoot horses. An art in itself that theory on how to do it with the horse's best interest in mind is constantly changing. I have been trimming my horses off and on for over 20 years.

Before entering cosmetology school, I worked in an aluminum smelter and a wood treating facility as an industrial electrician and automation control technician. Most recently I was a technical director at the wood treating facility.

After being abruptly laid off after the company sold, I had to take a look at what would bring me joy instead of just paying the bills.

Now, I get to help people and horses feel better. Trimming horses is too physically demanding for me to do that full time.

Helping people feel better and look better... That fills my cup and fulfills all the needs. ❤️

We got to work remotely for class today.
We had to do a style from assigned era and show the class. Mine was 1940s. 🤩

I styled her hair while inside the house...I don't have Bobby pins yet, so this isn't secure.

Finishing up my distance learning hours today from my back deck. ⛱️🌞☀️

Gray cover up & Last day of Phase 1 of 3

I had the privilege of doing a gray blending for a friend today. It turned out beautiful!! ❤️ 🤩

Her hair did it's own fun blending, having had highlights and color mid shaft to end previously.

Worked with Demi Toners today. I wanted to have a good contrast between the two sides.

I learned a lot today and used three different techniques to complete this highlighting service.

Learned to go with my gut instead of playing it safe and using mannequins sucks for this process. The only heat was from the energy transfer in the lightening process. Makes for inconsistent results.

I'm looking forward to doing this process going forward and perfecting it! It's science!! 😊

This blow out was a transformation!!
We did a scalp treatment, deep conditioning, blow out, and flat iron.
Her hair turned out amazing!!!

Peekaboo highlights/color placement.

If I only took photos the day I started foils. It was SO bad. I was so frustrated. I let them defeat me.

I regrouped and figured out what I was missing or misunderstanding. Foils looking good now and flat. Now, to get them done faster. ☺️

Played with a test sample for color application.

Red Burgundy. This color would look really good if going from dark brunette to this color.
