Bella Fuzz

Bella Fuzz would have loved attending this event- she'd even love wearing a little hat. checking under the tables for any lost nibbly bits... Getting snuggles from everyone.

Now - where was Bella hiding? People would come into the bookstore searching for her in the windows, chairs, etc. I could always tell they were searching for her by the panicked look on their faces - was she in the basement?

Bella Fuzz must have slept 22 hours a day.

She was perfectly happy sleeping on the counter, behind a chair that someone was sitting on, next to someone on a chair at an author event, on a chair in the gift area, inside a bookcase, in her cat tree, on her kitty bed in the window, lying in the window right next to her kitty bed or tree, nestled against the window in front of book, on top of a book or gift item in the window display, on a bookcase shelf, on the best seller table on the top of the books,under a chair, under a bookcase, downstairs in a box of tote bags, on a box at the cash wrap, under the counter in a box holding bags, on top of the shelf of tote bags, on the floor next to a bookcase, under a wire rack of stuffed animals, behind a wire spinner wrap of 8x8's in a corner, hiding behind a shelf in the basement with the returns, on a chair under the activity table in the basement.

As you can tell, it took me (Pat) quite some time to figure out all of her snoozing places.

Sometimes I would walk by some part of the bookstore and spot some movement. - almost as if she was saying "Oh, you FINALLY found me! Time to pick me up for a snuggle".

With deep regret, we have to inform fans of Bella Fuzz that she has passed away, after a brief illness and extended stay at Rockingham Veterinary Clinic. Antibiotics and steroids were tried, but at her ripe old age of 19, it was not safe to operate. Myles Mickle sat with her as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge (Pat & Alan were at a family gathering out of town for 2 weeks) She spent 12 wonderful years with us at Village Square Booksellers - a therapy cat - someone to search for in the bookstore or in the store window - a warm cuddle. She loved her bookstore family, visiting when someone walked in, always happy to attend bookstore author events. Sitting on all of the boxes arriving with new books, etc. We have prepared an album of some of her memories but feel free to post your own photos of Bella Fuzz on her page too. Memories of Bella Fuzz, beloved bookstore kitty at Village Square Bookstore. Always gentle, always willing to let someone pet her or pick her up. She loved tummy rubs. Always curious to check out and attend author events. She loved sitting in the sunny window watching the world go by and sleeping on or near the radiator in the winter time. Bellows Falls Vermont
