Something nobody tells you when you open a salon suite is that you’ll never be “just a hairstylist” again. These days, I’m a receptionist/web designer/social media strategist/marketing manager/cleaning lady/accountant/inventory control specialist/benefits administrator, oh yeah…and I also do hair 32-40 hours a week. 😉⁣

It’s a lot of work, and sometimes I get overwhelmed trying to keep up (hey just being honest), but nothing compares to the feeling of knowing you’re doing it all on your own (big Capricorn energy) and I truly CANNOT imagine having it any other way.⁣

did you know natural redheads only account for 1-2% of the world population? and literally every single one of them has gotten a balayage from me 😂 no but seriously - I feel like at least 10% of my clients are redheads (maybe it’s just because we’re in a city with a v large irish population?!) - anyway, I do love balayage on red hair 🥰

foilyage retouch on 4ish months of regrowth + a big cut (about 7” and lots of weight removed!)⁣⁣

this usually takes me about 4ish hours for color and cut because she’s got looooots of hair (that before photo was halfway through the preliminary haircut 😂), and since we’re glazing to a pastel tone, I like to leave the glaze on a bit longer and sometimes even glaze it twice.⁣⁣

full disclosure: I technically don’t *do* vivids (I don’t even stock them in the salon!), but if we can concoct your tone using the demi-permanent glazes I’ve got on hand, then we can make it work (creating pastel pinks and purples from a standard color array makes me think outside the box + keeps me on my toes!) 🧪😉⁣⁣

this time it came out sort of pinky-mauvey-purple, but I usually experiment and try new color combos in search of the holy grail 🎨⁣⁣
