RIP Ruby 🥲

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ruby Wheeler, a beloved School Crossing Guard in Belmont. On behalf of the men and women of the Belmont Police Department, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Ruby’s family during this difficult time.

For years, Ruby faithfully served at the intersection of Washington and Common Street, where he was admired by both schoolchildren and their parents. Ruby wasn’t just a crossing guard; he was a welcoming presence who greeted every child with a warm smile and kind words, making sure they started and ended their school day on a positive note. His kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the safety of Belmont’s children touched the lives of many.

Ruby will be dearly missed by the entire Belmont community.
