🧊 ICY vs. 🧈 BUTTERY BLONDE — LET’S TALK ABOUT IT 👀

Not all blondes are created equal, and “blonde” doesn’t automatically mean icy!

🧊 ICY BLONDE
Think cool, crisp + bright. Icy blondes lean toward platinum, pearl, silver, or cool beige tones with warmth toned down as much as possible.

🧈 BUTTERY BLONDE
Think soft, creamy + golden. Buttery blondes embrace warmth with beautiful golden, honey, vanilla + creamy tones.

And here’s the important part 👇

Warm does NOT mean brassy. 🙅‍♀️
A gorgeous buttery blonde is intentionally warm and dimensional. Brassiness is unwanted yellow/orange warmth.

So when you sit in my chair and say, “I want to be blonde…” my next question is going to be:

being a hairstylist AND a lifelong dolly lover… you already know this quote has always had a special place in my heart 🥹✂️💗

dolly once said, “i think the most important thing a woman can have — next to talent, of course — is her hairdresser.”

and i mean… who am i to argue with dolly? 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

but all jokes aside, i think she understood something really special about women. sometimes getting your hair done isn’t about changing how you look — it’s about getting a little piece of yourself back.

i’ve watched women look in the mirror and light back up. i’ve seen the “oh my gosh, i needed this” moment more times than i can count. i’ve had conversations in my chair that started with hair and ended with us talking about life, love, babies, careers, family, and everything in between.

THAT is why i love what i do. 🤍

and if there was ever a woman who understood the power of feeling good, being unapologetically feminine, and having hair that enters the room before you do… it was dolly. 😂👑

big dreams. big heart. big hair. and yes… BIG WIGS. because miss dolly knew sometimes the higher the hair, the closer to heaven. 😂✨

some may think this was my typical color transformation 😏 but plot twist… we didn’t color her hair at all!

we did a keratin treatment to smooth and relax her natural curls, reduce frizz, and make her hair sooo much easier to manage. the difference between that before and after 😍 look at that shine + smoothness!!

We started with grown-out greys, some brassiness, and old blonde throughout. The goal was to brighten everything back up while blending those greys and giving her maximum coverage where she needed it!

The result: a bright, dimensional grey blend that looks seamless now AND will give her a much softer, more natural grow-out between appointments. ✨

Grey coverage doesn’t have to mean one solid color — we can keep it bright, blended, and low maintenance! 🤍
