Another month, another ScarWork Clinic second Thursday of the month, Oct 9th, 4:30pm at the Motoshop Bend.
Scarwork is effective for old scars, new scars, or even injuries without scars. This gentle technique helps improve circulation, lymph flow, and softens fibrotic tissue. It releases adhesions from the trauma integrating the tissue into more functional tissue.

Whenever I talk to people about ScarWork, I always hear, " It's an old scar, and it never bothers me." Our bodies adapt so well that we create compensations to help to continue to move even though the scar tissue is not as functional. Sometimes we create unknowingly dysfunctional patterns that create other compensating patterns of movement. You never really know how much a scar is hindering you until it is truly integrated into the surrounding tissue. If you are curious to learn more. Scar tissue develops after an injury or surgery and is often a dense tissue. This tissue is created in a disorderly pattern and is dense to keep the body still while it heals. I happy to be back again for another ScarWork Clinic. If you have been injured, or had surgery, you understand that scar tissue is not like normal tissue. It is denser and has less mobility. ScarWork is a gentle way to hydrate, mobilize and integrate that tissue into more normal tissue. I will be available for questions as well as hands on work. Hope to see you there.@
