✨WHY GIVING BACK TO WOMEN MATTERS TO ME

Years ago, I knew a mother who was going through one of the hardest seasons of her life. She loved her children deeply, but after struggling personally, she lost custody of them. She went to court more than once hoping to bring her children home, but each time she walked away without them.

I knew this woman. I knew the mother she was. And after talking with her, I realized something. She had lost her confidence.

At the time, I didn’t have a lot myself. I was working, raising my own children and trying to make ends meet. I couldn’t change her circumstances or fight her battle for her. But I could do hair. And I could help her feel like herself again.

The evening before another court appearance, I highlighted her hair. The next morning, while I was getting my own children ready for school, she came back to my house and I styled her hair and did her makeup.

But it became about so much more than hair and makeup. As I worked, we talked.

I encouraged her to speak up for herself. To tell the court how much she loved her children. To walk into that courtroom believing she was worthy of being heard.

And that morning, I watched her confidence change.
She walked into court differently. That day, she got her children back. I’ve never forgotten it.

I don’t believe doing someone’s hair magically changes their life. But I learned that sometimes a little kindness can remind a woman of the strength she already has.

Sometimes helping someone feel seen, cared for and confident gives them the courage to take their own next step.

That experience planted a seed in my heart ❤️.

It’s why I believe in giving back to women. It’s why I want to build something that reaches women during seasons when they may not have the resources to invest in themselves.
