An ode to May: Lily of the valley

Welcome to the flower series where I'll be taking the birth flower of the month and incorporating it into henna Designs!

May's flower is Lily of the valley, incorporated with some barely blooming lilies. Lily of the valley can symbolize purity, love, sincerity and happiness.

Fun facts:
- It was Queen Elizabeth II favorite
- National Flower of Finland

(Aka; find a queen, gift her some lilies in Finland)

I always shied away from trying bridal Henna as I thought I needed yet to perfect my skills (as if there is such an attainable thing).

This piece is not even complete I just ran out of henna in my cone but having finally challenged myself to do this I would easily do it again, any takers?

Let's talk about perspective.

I love doing henna on my own hands, but inverting my technique to do it on others is a total challenge on how I am applying my art form. Here I've given you 4 photos. One where its through four perspective as a henna wearer and mine as a henna artist.

So many things change: the way I'm applying my henna, how I'm resting or supporting my wrist, understanding surface area to design ratio. Every person's hands (and bodies!) are beautiful and uniquely adorned to their own aesthetic. Henna is an art form to adorn and heal, and what better way other than to have it align with the individual receiving.
