Four years ago, I opened Transform Myofascial Release with the goal of helping people reclaim their lives.
🔹 Who are you when pain no longer limits your life?
🔹 Who are you when the tightness in your stomach from years of anxious thoughts melts away and you finally exhale?
🔹 Who are you when your energy returns, your motivation comes back, and your inspiration reawakens?
Myofascial release is about more than releasing fascia and easing muscle tension. It's about what happens afterward. It's about helping people reconnect with themselves and reclaim the life that pain, stress, trauma, or restriction may have taken away.
That is why I'm here.
To my Transform Myofascial Release family: thank you for trusting me 💙
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your healing journey. I am here because of you 💙
✨ Cheers to Four Years of Transform MFR ✨

I had such a memorable experience last month at dinner with a good friend, Melanie Wilson-Lloyd .
In her previous life she was a creative at an advertising agency. We found ourselves talking about creativity and our desire to make more space for art in our lives. She asked me what keeps me from making art. Jokingly, I replied, "Laundry!" But beneath the joke was a truth: I don't often make time for creative endeavors in my day-to-day life. What I do tend to do is sign up for one off workshops forcing me to carve out the time to get in the creative flow.
Melanie, being the catalyst for change life coach that she is, suggested that we text each other daily with one creative thing we've done. Having an accountability partner has been surprisingly motivating, and it's helping me make creativity a regular part of my life. I look forward to her texts with pictures of what she’s created & it reminds me to sit down & connect with my creative side--even if it's just five minutes of doodling, painting, singing a song, or dancing around the house.
Just two days after our dinner, while walking through Magnolia passing time before an energy session, I happened upon Whale Rock Art Studio and it felt as though the universe had placed it directly in my path. I signed up for two workshops on the spot.
Last week, I attended their Abstract Painting for Beginners class, and I had so much fun. As I painted line after line, it suddenly dawned on me that I had created... fascia! The interconnected lines and flowing patterns reminded me so much of the fascial system we work with every day.
Here are a few photos of the process and the finished piece. It may never hang on a wall, but creating it brought me so much joy.
I'd love to hear: What creative practice brings you joy these days?

An annual tradition has been born!
One of the highlights last month was receiving a wonderful Myofascial Release session from a dear friend, Eliot Smalheiser of Greene Lotus Holistic Physical Therapy and Wellness . We decided to take our sessions outdoors at Lynch Park by the ocean, and it was an incredible experience.
As I received the work, I could feel releases happening while big gusts of wind swept through, birds chirped overhead, waves rolled onto the shore, and a cool ocean breeze surrounded us.
Afterward, we traded sessions, and I had the opportunity to work on him as well. I kicked off my shoes and felt the grass between my toes, gazed out at the sea and sky while I waited for the fascia to release.
It was a beautiful exchange and a reminder of the power of both healing touch, human connection, and grounding in nature.

Meet Snapper, our new kitten! He's been slowly getting to know his big brother Manchego, our Maine C**n (follow their adventures .the.big.cheese).
But here's the thing: while I was down on the floor supervising their meet-and-greet, I caught myself in all these twisted positions I tell my clients to avoid. Sitting directly on hard floors? That's a recipe for tight hips, low back pain, and fascial restrictions.
So I took my own advice and grabbed an ottoman. Your body will thank you for the support, whether you're introducing kittens or just hanging out at home. Try a stool, a hassock, anything that gets you off that hard surface.
Practice what you preach, right? 🐱

I recently returned from vacation in Anguilla.
During one of those long, quiet mornings, journaling under the palm trees, I noticed something strange. I kept catching myself at the end of an exhale... and forgetting to inhale.
Not in a scary way. In a finally letting go way.
Like my body had been holding so much for so long that when it finally felt safe enough to release, it just... exhaled. Deeply. Completely.
I didn't have to force myself to slow down. I started feeling safe enough to.
One morning, I worked on my own diaphragm, and what came up surprised me. Butterflies. The nervous stomach of a little girl faking sick to avoid a school presentation.
So many years later, and still, layer by layer, I'm releasing what I've been holding.
That's the nature of this work. It unfolds when we're ready.

Sending you love from Anguilla, where I definitely was NOT analyzing anyone's posture. 😉
This trip reminded me what it feels like to truly slow down. To exhale so deeply I forgot to inhale. To release layers I've been carrying for years.
New blog post is live on what happens when you finally let go (link in bio). 🌊

Put Your Oxygen Mask on Yourself First
With all the snow we have been getting, a winter escape can feel like pure magic. Sunshine instead of shoveling. Salt air instead of icy wind.
A couple weeks ago, my husband Mike and I took my aging mom to California to visit her grandson and my brother. For her, a trip to the grocery store is a big outing, so this was huge.
I came prepared with everything she would need: wheelchair, transport chair, shower chair. But I also needed to plan for me.
I adore my mom. She introduced me to yoga, earth-based spirituality, energy work... so much of what shaped who I am. And she is also a lot for me. Her mobility is not what I wish it were, and supporting her requires patience and steadiness. If I am not grounded, my inner teenager shows up: judgy, flustered, impatient.
So self-care was not optional. It was essential.
I packed my favorite teas, my journal, earbuds for meditations, and a couple of MFR tools. In the mornings, I sat quietly outside with my tea. In the evenings, Mike and I walked along the ocean. Each time, I could feel my body soften.
Before I left, I scheduled MFR and energy treatments for when I returned home. I lightened my work schedule so I could re-enter gently.
The goal was not just to get through the trip. It was to come home feeling like myself.
When I did, I was able to fly home Wednesday night and return to the office Thursday afternoon steady, present, and regulated, not depleted.
Travel can restore us. But only if we bring the parts of ourselves that truly support us along for the ride.
As you plan your winter escape, ask yourself: What do I need to bring so I can return home more like myself, not less?

Let’s talk balls—MFR Balls and Acumobility Balls, that is!
MFR Balls work wonders anywhere on your body, while Acumobility Balls take it up a notch with their non-rolling magic (hello, tight traps!)
Both are perfect for targeting those sore spots with 3–5 minutes of focused pressure. Which one are you reaching for first?

Holiday Travel = Happy Memories… & Sometimes Not-So-Happy Backs 😫
As we head into Christmas and New Year, most of us will be doing a lot more traveling to visit family.
Flights, long drives, sleeping in unfamiliar beds, lifting suitcases etc.
While the holidays are joyful, all that movement (and sitting still!) can add extra tension to your neck, shoulders, and low back.
Here are a few of my favorite tips to help your body arrive feeling a little less tight and a lot more supported:
→ Support your lumbar curve.
Adjust your seat so you’re not slouching, or roll up a blanket/jacket behind your low back. A lumbar roll works even better.
→ Move every hour.
On flights or road trips, get up, straighten your posture, walk a bit to let your spine decompress.
→ Set up your driver's seat for success.
If you’re driving, sit further back from the wheel with arms extended, try not to hunch over to avoid rounding your spine.
→ Be the passenger when possible.
If you can, take turns driving and let your body rest instead of bracing behind the wheel the whole trip.
→ Stretch when you arrive.
A gentle neck release and hip flexor stretch can make a huge difference after long travel days.
→ Pack your self-care tools.
A small MFR ball, a strap, or a lumbar roll fits easily in a carry-on and can save your body after a long day of traveling, sitting or sleeping on a less-than-lovely mattress.
Whether you’re traveling to see family, escaping somewhere warm, or staying local but constantly on the go — take care of your body as much as you can.
Your spine, nervous system, and holiday spirit will thank you!
Your pelvis will thank you for these MFR tools!
Both of these will help balance and release tension in the structures around your hips and lower back.
The Sacro We**ie is an instant favorite for relaxation, while pelvic wedges are perfect for more targeted balancing (pro tip: work with your MFR therapist to get the most out of them!)
