What makes Aegis Balm different?
It starts with grass-fed tallow slowly infused with catnip and locally sourced sweet fern—a native woodland plant traditionally used by Indigenous communities in the Northeast during outdoor living. We then blend it with neem oil, cedarwood, geranium, and lemongrass to create a gentle, family-friendly balm inspired by nature and crafted for adventure.

The Aura Maris Lipid Serum
• Grass-Fed & Finished Tallow — Rich in fatty acids & vitamins (A,D,E & K)that help nourish, soften, and support the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
• Olive-Derived Squalane — A lightweight lipid that mimics the skin’s natural oils, helping to lock in hydration while improving softness and elasticity.
• Emu Oil — Packed with omegas 3, 6, & 9 which help hydrate the skin & lock in moisture with a lightweight feel.
• Sea Buckthorn CO₂ Extract — Packed with antioxidants, carotenoids, and rare omega-7 fatty acids to support barrier function and promote a healthy glow.

Meet the Aegis Balm — our family-safe woodland bug balm inspired by the forests of New England and crafted for parents who want to enjoy the outdoors with a little more peace of mind.
This formula was slowly developed and fine-tuned using a blend of traditional herbal ingredients and gentle aromatics that feel as good on the skin as they smell. At the heart of the balm is grass-fed tallow infused with catnip and locally sourced sweet fern — a beautiful woodland herb we source from a small grower right here in New Hampshire. (Fun fact: Sweet fern has long been used by Indigenous tribes like the Abenaki & Mi’kmaq for its insect-repelling properties!)
We paired these infused botanicals with neem oil, cedarwood, geranium, and lemongrass for a soft, herbaceous outdoor blend that’s safe for the whole family and made for everything from backyard play to summer hikes.
