If you're like me, you scroll and start wondering. Is that AI? A filter? The algorithm deciding what I see? What am I actually looking at, and is any of it real?

We use those same tools too, and there's nothing wrong with that. They have a purpose.

But no filter can fake where a brand actually comes from.

Ours comes from an unassuming plant that grows wild in the foothills of the Beartooths. Some people would call it a w**d. It doesn't ask for good soil or an easy season. It just comes back, year after year, hardy and full of what it needs to keep going.

That's not a metaphor Connor and I added later. It's the reason the plant is on the label. Sorrel isn't an ingredient claim, it's the design principle.

So when you see something from us, that's what's actually behind it. Not a trend. Not a filter. A plant that keeps showing up no matter what the season brings, and two people who wanted to build something that did the same.

That's why we made a Skin Plan that starts with you. Your frustrations. Your observations. What's real for you.

Frustrated that your skin doesn't glow like this?

That's Taylor, my daughter, solo hiking weekend in Glacier. No makeup. Just a good day outside.

You've probably heard dermatologists say all you really need is vitamin C. And you've heard me say simpler is better, too. I believe that. But here's something I never knew: the part the marketing skips is that a single antioxidant, working alone, gets used up. It neutralizes a free radical and is itself spent in the process. That's where the idea of a network comes in, and where reading the panel starts to matter.

Glow Serum is a small, deliberate network: Vitamin C, Niacinamide, and Vitamin E, each doing distinct, real work, so nothing is carrying the whole job alone. Our product has a team for a reason.

There's a change in the air.

Cooler mornings. Cooler nights. Yellow school buses. New routines. And then, out of nowhere, your skin feels different.

It's not your imagination. Less humidity and more time indoors change what your skin is dealing with, and the switch is simpler than you'd think. Swipe through for what's actually happening and how to adjust your routine for it.

Has this ever happened to you? A product you loved, one that worked so well in the beginning, suddenly feels like it's not doing anything anymore.

I want you to hear this before you toss the bottle: it probably didn't fail you.

And if you're like me, ask yourself: how am I really doing with my self-care routine? Being consistent is no joke.

It is true that every product has a ceiling, a realistic best-case set by its ingredients and your own skin. A good one gets you there and holds you. That's not failure. That's it doing its job.

Save this for the next time a product starts to feel like it's stopped working. Swipe through for the honest reasons why, and the few that actually mean it's time for a change.

I have never liked pictures of myself. Never have. But when this "one photo, every decade" thing started showing up in my feed, I went looking for six of my own and could not stop looking.

1976: Eight years old, overdressed for a day at the Milwaukee Zoo with my two younger brothers, sporting a full Dorothy Hamill haircut. This was the summer before I lost my dad, and I had no idea yet how much of the rest of my life he'd shape.

1986: Eighteen, fresh out of high school in Middleton, Wisconsin, doing my very best model face. I regret nothing about the hair.

1996: Twenty eight, blowing bubbles with my first baby, Connor. I love that he would one day grow up to be a microbiologist and co-founder reading every ingredient list right alongside me now.

2006: Thirty eight, nose to nose with our fourth baby, Braden, our big surprise. Four kids in, and still not sure I knew what I was doing.

2016: Forty eight, home in the Finger Lakes after years as an educator, producer, writer and director, learning what it felt like to trade a title for a different kind of full time job.

2026: Fifty eight this October. Still not a fan of the camera. But looking at all six of these together, I feel something closer to comfortable in my own skin than I ever have. That's my wish for you, too.

Are you frustrated with dark spots? Here's the honest answer: yes, there's a genuinely great product for this. The other honest part: it takes patience, consistency, and making SPF your best friend.

Kojic acid is one of the most studied brightening actives in skincare. At 2%, it produces brightening results comparable to 4% hydroquinone, with fewer side effects. And we built it into a cleansing bar on purpose: used up in six to eight weeks, stored dry and dark between uses, only on your skin for thirty to sixty seconds, exactly the conditions that keep an active like kojic acid working at its best.

Now the patience part. Brightening ingredients slow new melanin, they don't erase what's already there, so existing pigment only fades through natural turnover. Expect minimal change in weeks 1 to 4, tone starting to even out by weeks 4 to 8, and the real accumulation by weeks 8 to 12. Consistency beats intensity here. Don't forget: SPF is your best friend the whole time.

You don't think about your skin barrier until it stops working. Then it's all you can think about.

Here's what it actually is, and why "damaged" doesn't mean broken forever.

1. Picture a brick wall.
Skin cells are the bricks. Ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids are the mortar holding it together.

2. When that mortar wears down, two things happen.
Water escapes. Irritants get in. That's when skin starts to complain, tightness, stinging, flaking, redness that shows up out of nowhere.

3. Often it's not the product. It's the barrier.
Something you've used for months suddenly reacts. The formula didn't change.

4. The fix is rarely about adding more.
Do less. Cleanse gently. Replenish the lipids skin is already built from. Give it time, usually two to four weeks.

5. This is why a Skin Plan routine is usually just three products.
Cleanse. Activate. Moisturize. Every step earns its place.

My skin barrier had a little too much fun this weekend.

My husband and I just celebrated 42 years since the day we met. Vegas. (Yes - I was 15, he was 17) 114 degrees, drier than Billings could ever throw at me, late nights, amazing food, a wonderful time.

My skincare nemesis. Hotel sheets.

By the end of the trip, my skin was reactive and uneven. Nothing dramatic, just that unmistakable "something's off" feeling.

Here's the thing about a skin barrier: it's not just reacting to what you put on your face. It's reacting to your whole week. New fabrics, disrupted sleep, rich food, travel air, all of it can show up on your skin days later. Add a much drier climate on top of that, and it makes sense.

It's not a sign you did something wrong. It's just your barrier telling you it's had a lot to process.

So here's what I actually did. I knew this wasn't the time to introduce anything new, so I stuck with my usual daily cleanser. Then Hydration Serum on damp skin, sealed in with Dew Cream. I skipped my Glow Serum too, not because anything was wrong with it, just fewer steps while my skin settles.

Now I'm just being patient. A barrier doesn't reset overnight, it takes time.

How did your skin barrier make it through the weekend?
