We like to think we help bridge the gap between the natural hair community and simplified curl care! Partner with us to get on the road to recovery.

I want to take this time to remind some and update others about our way of booking here Onyx Glam Natural Hair Care !

Our books open every month on the 20th of each month at 8am in preparation for the following month.

We release our booking to the public 1 month at a time. The schedule remains open until all available slots are filled for that month. This gives you a chance to request all appointments you need for the upcoming month.

If a date and time you attempt to schedule is booked, don’t forget about our waitlist! Add yourself to our waitlist and you will be contacted automatically if that date becomes available. That way you don’t have to continually check for cancellations. You may only waitlist for the month that is currently booking. You can not waitlist for a month that we are not yet accepting appointments for.

As a curl specialist I look forward to partnering with you on your kinky curly hair care needs. I’m here to be the professional guidance you need in helping to set and achieve realistic natural hair goals. Knowing what’s true and what’s false can help you make better decisions when caring for your curls. I know it can be hard to know what’s just a myth or if something truly works. Myths can be tricky because some get passed down through the generations others get passed around the Internet.

Either way you begin to believe different myths even when it doesn’t work for you just because you’ve heard so many people repeat it or do it. You start to think it has to be true- something is just wrong with my hair or everything doesn’t work for everyone.
When the truth is cosmetology is the scientific study and practice of caring for hair skin and nails. Some things are just fact and hold true for everyone. A fact can be proven over and over again and will always yield the same result.

Above are some things you may have heard and believed that are only myths.
Here’s why it is a myth
1)Oiling or grease your scalp has no hydrating benefit. Your sebaceous glands produce all the sebum(oil) your scalp needs. If your scalp is dry and itchy its because it needs water to hydrate and shampoo to cleanse weekly.
2) if you’re cleansing and conditioning regularly you don’t need to deep condition your hair. You deep condition when you a treating a specific issue. Like strengthening your “color treated”hair. Deep conditioner does all it’s going to do in about 15 to 20 minutes. Leaving it on all not doesn’t make it work better.
3)hooded dryers are safe. The heat from a hooded dryer doesn’t reach the temperature that causes heat damage to your hair. Drying your styles using hooded dryer cures the products and sets the style. Air drying is not recommended for longevity in styling.

SHE wanted the mullet(length in the back) gone!
SHE chose style and health over length! What’s the use in having that length if it serves no purpose.
