Marvel just put names to the new X-Men lineup, and the casting is already giving fans A LOT to debate.

Christopher Abbott is Professor X, Kit Connor is Cyclops, Sadie Sink is Jean Grey, Maya Boyd is Storm, Inde Navarrette is Rogue, Samara Weaving is Emma Frost, Asa Germann is Angel, and Adam Driver is stepping into the role of Mister Sinister. With Jake Schreier directing and the movie currently scheduled for May 5, 2028, Marvel is officially building its next mutant era.

And honestly, casting the X-Men has always felt different from casting a normal superhero team. These characters are outsiders who are defined by being different, misunderstood and often rejected by the world around them, so fans naturally care a LOT about who gets to bring them to life.

Heart of the Beast, directed by David Ayer, follows Special Forces officer James Belmont after his plane crashes in the Alaskan wilderness. Stranded in the brutal cold with his retired combat dog, Odin, the two have to survive the terrain, the elements and whatever else the wilderness throws at them.

It's being presented as a gritty survival thriller, but there was one question fans clearly needed answered before watching: DOES THE DOG DIE?

Apparently, the filmmakers decided not to torture everyone with that suspense. Producer Richard Raymond straight-up reassured fans that "the dog does not die," while Ayer separately confirmed that Odin makes it through the story.

Studios usually protect major plot points like this at all costs, but when a dog is at the emotional center of your movie, sometimes the audience just needs to know they're going to be okay.

Honestly, this might be the rare spoiler nobody is mad about.

Sometimes knowing the dog survives is more important than knowing how the movie ends.

Destin Daniel Cretton is officially returning to the Marvel universe to direct the next Spider-Man movie, and honestly, this feels like a pretty great choice. After bringing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings to life, Cretton has already shown that he can deliver huge superhero action without losing the emotional, character-driven moments that make these stories work.

And Spider-Man 5 has A LOT to live up to. After everything Peter Parker went through in No Way Home, expectations for the next chapter are ridiculously high.

Having Cretton behind the camera suggests Marvel has some serious confidence in where Peter's story is heading. Now the real question is...

What are they cooking for Spider-Man 5?

Coyote vs. Acme is way more than just Wile E. Coyote getting destroyed by another ACME invention.

Underneath all the classic Looney Tunes chaos and slapstick comedy, the movie actually explores some surprisingly real ideas about corporate responsibility, ethics and what happens when a powerful company refuses to take accountability for the people affected by its decisions.

Those themes fit naturally into Wile E.'s story without taking away the ridiculous humor that makes Looney Tunes so much fun. His fight becomes about more than simply catching the Road Runner - it's about persistence, standing up for yourself and refusing to let a bigger force push you around.

It's honestly a clever way to give one of animation's most iconic characters a fresh story while still remembering what fans loved about him in the first place.

After all those years of taking L after L... maybe Wile E. finally gets his moment.

Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield will forever be superior.

It's actually kind of wholesome seeing where the three generations of Peter Parker ended up outside the Spider-Verse. Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland each gave us completely different versions of Peter, and somehow fans still keep up with their lives long after they left their respective Spider-Man eras.

Andrew has been linked to Monica Barbaro, while Tom Holland and Zendaya took their Peter and MJ chemistry far beyond the MCU and eventually got engaged.

Their real-life story basically became the happy ending Peter Parker never seems to get on screen.

Tobey has also found himself back in the spotlight after being seen with 20-year-old model Lily Chee, sparking plenty of conversation online. Still, he appears to be enjoying life on his own terms.

After watching Peter Parker lose people, sacrifice his happiness and suffer through basically every universe imaginable, fans can at least joke that some of the actors behind the mask managed to get the ending Peter never did.
