I had Jett’s toothpaste all over my outfit before 7:30 this morning. 😂 I wiped it off twice, realized it wasn’t going anywhere, and for a second I was so frustrated because I didn’t have time to change, but standing here in my studio looking at that little toothpaste stain, I started thinking maybe I don’t want to hide it.

Maybe it adds a little charm. ✨

Because this is what building a business while raising babies has looked like for me. Being a mom and a business owner is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, but it’s also one of the most challenging. I’m constantly learning how to manage all the things, chase the dreams God put on my heart, and still be present for the little people who call me Mommy.

I built Calista from the ground up while raising my babies and with a husband who supported me, uplifted me, and believed in what I was building.

There was a season when I would literally have a baby strapped to my back while lashing a client, my pumps going, and breast milk sitting in the same fridge as the refreshments I kept for my clients. 😂🤍

And somehow, we did it.

I’ve had clients hold my babies so they could get their services. I’ve had people encourage me, support me, believe in me, book with me, and continue showing up for me through every version of this dream. I will never be able to fully explain how grateful I am for that.

Calista may be mine, but there are so many hands and hearts woven into the story of how I got here.

I have always been resilient. I have always been strong. I have always been motivated. But becoming a mom gave all of those things a completely different purpose.

My babies get to grow up watching their mom build something she dreamed about.

And one day, I hope when life feels too big for them, they remember watching their mom figure it out over and over again.

So yeah… there’s toothpaste on my outfit in this picture.

But I think I’ll leave it.
