I wanted to let everyone know that Gary’s Barbershop is not opening under new management as planned. The person who was coming here never followed through, not sure what happened but some of you were still asking so I wanted to give you the update.

I sure do hate to see the shop go. All of you have made it such a great career for me and I hope you know your business, your friendship, the great conversations and the shared life experiences will never be forgotten.

Friends we’d like to share some GOOD NEWS! There is a new owner of Gary’s Barber Shop and the shop will be re-opening soon!!

Tim Bellm has been a barber for more than 14 years and operates his business along the same style of cuts and operation that you have been accustomed to. Tim will be re-opening the shop in the very near future , please check here periodically for the date. We will post his opening date and hours here.

We are excited for Tim and hope you will go by for a haircut and meet him soon and welcome him to the Oak Mt Community !

It is so bittersweet , but today we are announcing Gary’s retirement. There are no words to describe the incredible blessing his career has been and how much every customer as meant to him, to us. After 52 years of cutting hair, it’s just the right time to be home and to enjoy the next few years with family and a little fishing too! Thank you all so incredibly much and from the bottom of our hearts.

The Governor has announced that Barber Shops in Alabama can begin opening with strict guidelines on Monday May 11th. I am reviewing the guidelines to determine when and how to move forward at Gary’s Barber Shop. The earliest date I could attempt to open would be on Tuesday May 19th, due to the PPE required to meet the guidelines.
