Our sweet Abbott passed this morning, July 14th, Bastille Day.
She was the best dog, the sweetest girl, and we will miss her beyond measure. She provided much love to this family as well as many hand nudges to make sure we knew to keep the pets coming.

She is proceeded in death by her grandmothers, Michelle Medal Kelley (McDonald), and Jeanne (Woman) Fowler, and sibling Teddy Fowler. She is survived by two loving fathers, Jonathan Fowler and Shelby McDonald, and two siblings, Duke and Duchess of the House of Griffon.
Also survived by uncle, Zach Westall, great-aunts, Karen Fowler, Dede Fowler, and Lisa Campbell, human cousins, Marlissa Archie and Aurian Campbell, and dog cousins Mila Dove Archie-Campbell, Chloe Rose Archie-Campbell, Lucy Fowler, and Cici Fowler.

She was a patron of The Pawms Avondale and Avondale Animal Hospital, and generously gave white fur to everyone in black pants around her.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to AIDS Alabama for The Way Station

We think these bullet points speak for themselves, but we want to share 2 amazing resources for you and those you love:
The Trevor Project: has a 24/7 su***de hotline, as well as texting and online chat. Call (866)488-7386 to speak with someone on the phone.
Human Rights Campaign: fights for equality for all, not just some. More than likely every single one of us has been positively impacted by the HRC’s work. Visit their website (hrc.org) to donate and learn more!
And remember, as the rainbow flags come down tomorrow, our LGBTQ+ neighbors deserve consideration and love every month! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Truthfully, we all wreck our hair in the summer - especially down south!
We love being by the water and under the sun, but that can cause unwanted damage. Let one of our masks help you put it all back together and nurse your hair back to health!
There’s a mask for every hair woe and hair type!

Central Alabama Pride is this Saturday from 12pm-7pm! Join us in lifting up our community and safely celebrating!

From :
“The renewed sense of hope we have, that our community, love, lives, and lived experiences are finally being recognized, must serve us as fuel to act, not reason to rest. Therefore our 2021 theme is Together We Rise!”

June is here and that means PRIDE!
As a business made up of 3 gay men and 1 ally, we love this month, but there’s a lot more to it than rainbows and unicorns.
“Pride month was not born out of a need to celebrate being gay, but our right to exist without persecution”
The pride parades you see today started as a riot at The Stonewall Inn on 6/28/69. A group of LGBTQ+ people, but especially Masha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, fought back against the oppressive laws that were being forced on them.
Remember that this movement was built on the backs of trans women of color and drag queens of color. We would probably be living very different lives without them.

Below are some great local organizations that we recommend donating to this month and every month!
Happy Pride! Be safe out there this summer!

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: Humidity Shield!
We all know that spring and summer in the south means tons of humidity, but that doesn’t mean we have to just deal with it when it comes to our hair. We love this workhorse because it products your style and tames frizz - without weighing you down.
