Someone made a comment about one of my photos not too long ago. Saying they don’t know how I get the hair to be and look so soft. That every time they do their hair it looks nothing like that.
The secret is in the sauce, my friend.! What is going to control your hair and give it the softness and the soft look can a lot of the time be the type of products you use on your hair as well. Many times I ask what you use in your hair and I get the response of nothing just shampoo and conditioner. Which is completely normal no worries. Unfortunately when it comes to the soft curls and the control aspect products is where it’s going to be found. And I’m not talking load your hair up with a lot of products, but definitely have a thermal protectant to protect against the heat of your irons and blow dryers and have a styling cream or moose that works well to control your hair type.
For this, you need to know what your hair type is do you have a lot of frizz or do you need somebody to it that will 100% determine what kind of products you need to control that in your hair.
Many of my clients I use Joico Curls Like Us Hydrate and Define before I try style, that controls frizz in the hair.
You got this! And I’m right here for any questions you may have.

Why doesn’t my hair look like hers I had them do the same color they used on her?
This is a great question! In the end it really all comes down to the pigment/color of/in your hair and the mixture or formula created to put on your hair. Let’s brake it down.
All of our hair has the colors from the color wheel in it. But everyone’s hair differs in the amount of each. What you have in/on your hair has a lot to do with it.
I am naturally a medium ashy/golden blonde. My hair has more yellow in it so when I lighten it to a lighter blonde it does lighten easily but without toning it it will still look yellow.
My gorgeous Amanda, we color her to a beautiful chocolate color. But since she has so much natural red pigment in her hair (she is a brunette not a redhead) we have to use a brown color that has a green base. That is not a typo, GREEN. Or any color we put on her looks very red in color. So for Amanda, if I were to put on her hair the same formula as my beautiful Amber in the photo, Amanda would be a red brown color instead of a beautiful chocolate.
And you may be thinking, well I color my hair so that shouldn’t have anything to do with it because you are putting color on over colored hair. Weeellll, then, not only do we have to think about what your natural hair has in it but also what the color has in it.
A real quick example would be:
You have brown hair that flows into a blonde on the mid to ends of your hair. You go to the store and buy a box that says Natural Ash Brown because you just want to be all one color. Unfortunately, I can almost guarantee the top of your hair may be a nice brown but your ends will have if not a little a heavy green tint to them.
In no way am I trying to make you fearful of getting your hair colored. I want you to know your hair is unique to you and so the color mixed for you will be unique to your hair. One size does not fit all 🤣. And that’s the perfect way to be.!
I hope I helped.💕
Something new is at the salon!! Super excited to be able to share my journey of a new product with you ♥️.! Keep your eyes open for the details.
If you are having trouble curling your hair this info may help. Being real with you, it’s about 12 minutes long but full of good information to help you get over the hurdles of curling your hair.♥️
I’m not going to lie to you, extensions can be an investment. So we really want to get you hooked up with the right ones right away. I want to give you some things to think about to help you decide what kind you think may be best for you.
Now, I only deal with Halo and Toppers so that’s what we are going to chat about.
1) are you thinning on top or more in the back and are you looking for extra length in either one of those areas?
2)do you have areas with very little or no hair, where are they located? Because toppers clip into your hair the location and amount of thinning is a key to know.
3) do you have sensitive scalp skin or neck sensitivity? Sensitivity in these areas could lead to discomfort and/or headaches. You may need to ease into wearing them, a couple hours here and there, strengthening your tolerance. Our scalp is full of nerves and can get irritated easily if we aren’t nice to it.
We will be working on this together and if you have any questions along the way I will be here for you. I hope this gave you some food for thought when considering halo and topper extensions.

People are so confused! I often hear things like: you have thick hair but you do toppers and extensions? Or: you’re a blonde, it’s odd that you’re a brunette specialist.
It makes me giggle. Yep I do have thick hair but so many members of my family and friends have thin or thinning hair so I wanted to help. That led me down a wonderful education rabbit hole of everything that can make hair thin, brake, and just flat out fall right out of its, for lack of better wording, hair hole. It’s given me a much better understanding of not only nutrition in general but women’s nutrition. OH WHAT OUR HORMONES AND MENOPAUSE CAN DO TO US! Ugh!
I feel good being able to help women feel like themselves again and like what they see in the mirror. I have been able to help woman with hairloss from menopause to heart medication. And have learnt so much in the process! It’s something I don’t think I will ever stop learning about. Not only is it extremely interesting but there’s no feeling like seeing a lady with thinning hair put on that hair piece that’s custom ordered and cut for them, and see them smiling the biggest smile at times with tears because they haven’t seen that person staring back at them for a long time. That’s why I do it .
As for the brunette specialist and me being blonde 🤭🤣. I love you people you make me laugh! That is all about chemistry, and I am not talking about ♥️🥰love! With how my brain works I have found through the years that it’s way easier for me to figure out the chemistry of what goes into what and how much of each to make you a beautiful brunette. Vs making you a blonde. When you make someone a brunette you are actually adding things into the hair. When you are making someone into a blonde you are pulling pigment out of the hair and then you have to add in the right tone after to make sure it’s beautiful. Granted there are challenges with both but for some reason my brain finds mixing different ratios of tones to get you to the brunette you want to be easier than making you into a blonde.
It’s kind of like asking why are you good at science but suck at algebra! My brain doesn’t do algebra! Unless it does and nobody explained it to me in the way I understood 🤷🏼♀️. So to me brunette is science and blonde is algebra. 🤣
The majority of my clients are my science and not my algebra . But for those of you that are my algebra, I have been able to get used to your hair and now you’re more my common math problem vs algebra😂😂😂.
Have a great day everyone.♥️
Keep calm and put your Halo on. What made Amanda want the Halo extensions? What I love about this transformation is that we completely shifted Amanda’s look by putting a Halo extension in. The before picture it taken in my studio room the after is right by the front door with natural lighting. What made Amanda want to get a Halo extension? Unfortunately thinning hair. She was used to having thicker hair and through time and other things it has thinned some and with the thinning it has a problem with breakage as well which makes it really hard to grow. This is a great alternative so she can continue with masks and treatments to keep her hair healthy, and also have the thicker longer hair she’s been wanting. No commitment to keep in extensions is a great wat to have the longer thicker hair when you want it and keep your hair healthy by not having something tied or glued to your hair.
Bring on the spring! With the warm copper highlights she is ready for the warm spring to come! Balayage highlights make an easy blend to come get your new growth touched up and a toner in between highlights. We did 2-3 sessions of new growth touched up and toner before we had to bring the highlights up higher. Not only is it a quicker session that way but it’s better on your hair as well.♥️
Sassy post alert!🚨
My question to the world, for many reasons lately, has been why. Or my answer is, no I don’t accept that I don’t need to live like this.
I have been through a lot with doctors, for myself or my family in the past years. We were always taught to trust them. And please don’t get me wrong, there are some wonderful doctors out there.
Long story short, I don’t like their answers I do the digging and I figure out a different way. I had an infection a few months ago, got ahold of the doctor telling them it’s not going away and I had 1 day of meds left. They told me I had to set up an appointment with my regular doctor. If you can. Get right into your doctor the next day, week, or even month, you are a miracle worker. So I got mad and went to Steep me Apothecary on 3rd street. Guess what! I got natural stuff and my infection went away!
I was told my dry crusty skin was just perimenopause and there was nothing I could do about it. I called bu****it and now have LimeLife skin care in the salon because it worked on my skin it might work on someone else’s.
I have these wonderful clients that have thinning hair and they say, well I guess I just have to live with it. And again I call bu****it. And that’s why I brought in Purium for internal health care and Toppers/Halo extensions.
You Do Not Have To Look In The Mirror And Think I Just Have To Live With It!!
I don’t take that answer. You and I and everyone out there deserve to look in the mirror and like what we see! I am here to help with whatever I can and stand behind you with it.
Sometimes in life you just have to call bu****it. You are worth it!
