Here is what I actually think is kinda chic…

✨ Understanding color theory.
✨ Mastering the fundamentals.
✨ Investing in education that changes the way you think—not just what you do.
✨ Staying humble enough to keep learning, no matter how many years you’ve been behind the chair.

The stylists who stand the test of time aren’t the ones chasing every trend.

They’re the ones who understand why something works.

And yes… I’m also going to say the quiet part out loud:

Stop blaming the toner.
Stop blaming the color line.
Stop looking for a magic formula.

Most of the time, the answer happened before the bowl was ever mixed.

Now let’s stir the pot a little…

Which slide made you pause… or do you have one to add?

You never really know who’s watching… until they start cheering for you.

This nomination is so much bigger than an award to me. It’s a reminder that every client, every class, every early morning, every late night, and every leap of faith has been worth it.

I’m beyond honored to be a Top 100 Finalist in the Behind the Chair Hair Awards.

If my work has inspired you, taught you something, or simply made you smile, I’d be honored to have your vote.

Official warning label: proceed with caution.

Side effects of following this account may include:
• Thinking differently about color.
• Becoming a little obsessed with product knowledge.
• Saving way too many formulas.
• Laughing at my espresso-fueled ideas.
• Believing there’s enough success for every stylist.

I don’t have all the answers, but I promise to share everything I’ve learned along the way—and hopefully make you a more confident stylist because of it.

If that’s your vibe… welcome.

This might be one of the most important things I’ve ever posted.

For years, I thought becoming a better hairstylist meant taking another class…
learning another technique…
mastering another formulation.

And while all of those things matter…

they weren’t what transformed my career.

The biggest shift happened when I changed.

When I stopped trying to please everyone.
When I became okay saying no.
When I started building a life I actually loved outside of the salon.
When I realized confidence isn’t something you’re born with…

it’s something you earn.

Every consultation.
Every mistake.
Every uncomfortable conversation.
Every client who trusted you.

So now I want to ask you something…

“I became a better hairstylist when I finally _______.”

I genuinely want to read these.

They say success is sweeter when it’s shared… and today, I couldn’t agree more.

I’m beyond honored to be nominated as a behindthechair.com Top 100 Finalist in the Collaboration category.

BAILEIGH WISOCKI | HTX Hair, thank you for trusting me, collaborating with me, and girl we brought this vision to life. Sharing this nomination with you is so exciting. I’m so proud of all you have accomplished this year, you are crushing it- all those dreams and manifestations are coming true!

A huge thank you to Kenra Professional Alyssa Adkins ERIC VAUGHN for believing in me, investing in my growth, and continually creating opportunities that challenge me to become a better artist and educator.

And to behindthechair.com thank you for recognizing the work, the creativity, and the collaborations that make this industry so special. To be nominated once was a dream. To receive a second nomination this year is something I’ll never take for granted.

No matter what happens next, I’m already celebrating. The friendships, the artistry, and the journey are ALL a win.

Congratulations to all of the incredible finalists. I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone in August!

The trend says “Yes… But…” and honestly?

It’s the perfect reminder that both versions of me deserve to be celebrated.

Yes… I’m standing on stages, educating for Kenra, creating techniques I’m proud of, and sharing my passion with stylists around the country.

But… I was also the girl with the blue streaks, a very questionable blonde bob, the girl who loved doing anyones hair even my Great Grandpa’s hair, the empty salon chairs waiting for clients, and the big dreams that felt a little impossible.

Every version of me taught me something.

Every haircut, every hair color (good… and questionable ), every trend, every “failed” attempt, every yes, every no, every class with three people, every opportunity that scared me… led me here.

Hair trends come and go.
Social media trends come and go.(thankfully mirrored images)
Hair colors definitely come and go.

But showing up consistently? Believing in yourself? Continuing to learn, evolve, and say yes to opportunities?

That never goes out of style.

I’m so grateful for every chapter because without the “But,” there would never have been a “Yes.”

Here’s to honoring where we started while staying excited for where we’re headed. The best chapter might still be waiting.

What’s one “Yes… But…” moment in your own journey? I’d love to hear it.
