‼️We are now looking for Feline Steward volunteers‼️

➡️ What will a feline steward volunteer do?

Feline Stewards will be positioned in our cat lounge and serve as a liaison where you simply help people meet and get to know kitties, all while keeping everyone calm. If someone is interested in adopting you will share any background information we may have on that particular cat. The Feline Steward then passes them onto the Btown Meow staff if they want to move forward in the process.

🛑 Age requirements: *Volunteers who are 13-15 years of age must be accompanied by a legal guardian at all times. *Volunteers aged 16 yrs and older may volunteer on their own.

❓What does volunteering do for Btown Meow? It will help keep us open! With volunteers I will be able to focus on getting the cafe side more established.

🤔 Things you might think when becoming a volunteer:

1- I would want to take every cat home.

You might think that but you will get to see how spoiled/loved they are and know they are in a good place. You, as a volunteer, will help them over hurdles (such as helping a timid cat adjust to people) and it will be very fulfilling. Plus, we wouldn’t let you take them all home so there is no chance of that.

2- It is too physical for you.

You do walk, bend & play a lot but we don’t require you to do things you can’t. We can work with that!

3- It’s not a paid position.  

Correct.  The “pay” is doing something to help others, being there for the animals, keeping our lounge open, being part of our team, being loved by cats.

5- I cannot commit to every day.

We don’t expect you to! The shelter requirement is a 2-hourly weekly shift & to serve a minimum of 6 months (aside from breaks & vacations) Want to do more? Awesome! Pick a day and it’s yours!
