Mermaid Lash Queens
I'm your average girl who finds creativity to be the best medicine. Makeup loving, dancing mermaid 🧜
Grief looks different on everyone. There is no right way to grieve a loved one. It doesn't matter how many years have past, the pain, sadness and anger of the loss still exists. We just find ways to cope and heal.
But my grief and healing look different on me than it does you. Don't let anyone tell you "it's been years, why are you so upset", "don't cry it happened so long ago", "get over it" or any other invalidating phrases on how you should heal from any loss. How you choose to heal and grow and remember is a personal, intimate process. Your feelings are VALID. Just because someone else doesn't understand them doesn't make them any less real.
Once a year I cheers you Grams, wherever you may be in this universe. Happy birthday Grams. I miss you everyday.

Yesterday, a woman (we'll call her Sophia) came up to me and said, you are beautiful. When I see someone who is beautiful I have to tell them. They should know. You sre beautiful. You should model.
First, I don't take compliments well but Sophia made my day. Even as I curled my body inward and awkwardly feeling uncomfortable from the compliment, I kindly thanking her.
Second, I absolutely agree with her. We should start normalizing telling people when they are beautiful or what they are wearing is flattering or how stunning their eyes are. There is WAY TOO MUCH hate in this world so when you see someone with a kick ass pair of shoes, stunning hair, beautiful eyes or whatever it is, tell them!
Ironically, a few moments before Sophia approached me, I said something very similar to another woman. (We'll call her Andrea) From the way she wore her hair and makeup that made her crystal blue eyes pop to the outfit she was wearing, she was stunning. Just as Sophia told me, I told Andrea how stunning she looked. Her entire face lit up. As an empath, I had this feeling she hadn't heard it in a while which is shame because she deserves to hear it. She, like myself, seemed a bit embarrassed as she smiled and told me I had made her day. I don't tell people things just because I believe it's what they want to hear. I say it because a little positivity and the truth behind my words could spark a moment of happiness in someone.
If we started sharing these truths with perfect strangers, we could lift people up instead of putting each other down. Expressing a small bit of positivity to see someone smile for a moment could leave a lasting impression. You may just turn someone's entire day around with a simple smile or a kind word.
We need to start making a positive impact in this world. Choose to spread compassion. Share a little light in the this dark world we live in. 🫶

I couldn't resist a Double Lyra Workshop after loving my first class.
I partnered up with another badass student in the class and for a first attempt we rocked it.
No we didn't hit every position.
Yes we forgot a few movements.
No we weren't in sync.
Yes we were breathing hard.
No we didn't quit.
Yes we fought for our grip, upperbody and core strength.
No we never gave up.
This is was what learning to move your body differently looks like. Imperfectly beautiful.

Friday afternoon:
He thinks it's hilarious to tell me he hears someone in my stomach.
I, on the other hand, am quick to say absolutely not!
He proceeds to shove a pilates ball up my shirt.
I see my future flash before my eyes.
He laughs like a mad scientist.
End scene.
