After watching Fed Up, I finally saw exactly how crushing the school lunch program is to our youth's health and wellness. Interestingly, around the same time, I finished reading "Bringing Up Bebe," about an American mom raising her kids in Paris. As a culture, the noontime meal is revered in France and the children are taught to taste and enjoy a wide range of healthy, nourishing food. As a result, they lose most of their taste for artificial junk food. What is it going to take to get the corporations OUT of our kitchens, classrooms, and homes? It's criminal what we're feeding our future generations. I aim to seek opportunities to fight against Profit Over People when it comes to what nourishes our kids.

Alice Waters: The Fate of Our Nation Rests On School Lunches It was the French Philosopher Brillat-Savarin who wrote "the destiny of nations depends on how they nourish themselves." And it is this, his most famous idea, that is now never far from my mind when it comes to the discussion of school lunch in this country.

YES!!!! absolutely essential.
