Before joining WIMB he spent 5 years working at Atkinson Family Practice, a multidisciplinary family medicine practice in Amherst and Northampton, where he worked alongside primary care doctors and other specialists, treating patients of all ages with a variety of musculoskeletal issues.
From 2024-2026 Dr. Potash served as the official team chiropractor for UMass Amherst’s Division I sports, treating acute injuries for athletes on all teams including hockey, football, baseball, basketball, track and field, lacrosse and rowing. He also works as an adjunct instructor at The Massage School of Hadley where he teaches advanced techniques courses.

Having been frustrated with the care he received along the recovery journey, he found his calling to become a provider who listens with an empathetic ear and combines a diverse background and skill set in order to holistically help others heal and thrive as lifelong athletes.

“I think my shoes are causing this”
“Can you tell me if I’m in the right shoe?”
While footwear can play a role, the truth is running injuries are rarely caused by just one thing
Most injuries happen because of a combination of factors like:
* Sudden spikes in mileage or intensity
* Lack of strength or capacity
* Inadequate sleep/recovery/nutrition
Your shoes are simply one small piece of a much bigger puzzle
Instead of blaming your sneakers, it’s most helpful to ask:
* Has my training load changed recently?
* Am I getting enough recovery?
* How are my life loads/stressors?
* Am I doing my strength work?
The right shoe can support your training, but it can’t compensate for training mistakes or strength deficits
Our podiatrist, Dr. Alissa Kuizinas, designs custom orthotics to treat a wide variety of lower body issues.
Orthotics are also a great way to enhance sports performance, or to help make your shoes work harder for you. Orthotics can be designed to fit virtually any type of shoes, and can are specialized based on your specific sports and activities.
Alissa works at our Brookline and Concord offices. To book an appointment, call 617 505 6742 or use link in bio.
