A happy herbalist after identifying a giant Cuban Oregano plant on the North Shore of Oahu this week 🌿

I saw it and instantly thought, wow that is definitely a member of the mint family. I sniffed it and thought, hmmm this huge plant smells of Oregano and looks like it but it's too large! I did some searching to identify it and bam! It is exactly that. Everything grows in such wonderful abundance on these beautiful islands 🏝

I am feeling such a gentle stillness inside of myself today & wanted to wish you Happy Imbolc 💜
Wondering what the heck Imbolc even is? Well I am here to share the ways of the Pagan world with you. When we are looking at Celtic tradition, Imbolc celebrates the half way point between the winter solstice and spring equinox. Hang in there dear friends, the sweet Earth is beginning to stir from her slumber and prepare to receive our seeds once again.

Brigid is the Triple Goddess we turn to and invoke during Imbolc. She is the Goddess of poets, healing, childbirth, and inspiration. She is the Goddess of Wells, the lost voices of Wise Women. Her presence reminds us that like her, a healer is a midwife. We can only truly heal ourselves. But as an herbalist or another type of healer, we becomes midwives to witness and guide others on their path to healing.

Things you can do to celebrate Imbolc:
➿ Burn something that represents an evergreen like some pine needles, resin, etc. (Please make sure you don't do this anywhere that could cause a fire and do it small scale)

➿ Find a blessing for Brigid and say it while you drink a cup of tea or drink a couple glasses of water extra in her honor today

➿ Allow inspiration to fill your heart & make art, poetry, or plan what seeds you will plant when spring arrives

➿ Use Dandelion, Angelica or Lady's Mantle in a tea or steam bath

➿ Give yourself permission to rest a little extra today and tomorrow
