This summer has been such a whirlwind. Finding out we are having a sweet baby boy join our family and make us parents has been such a surreal joy!

But it has also been one of the most difficult things I’ve experienced so far - even in the most beautiful of ways. My moods, my energy levels, and how I feel physically literally swings on a pendulum and fluctuates day to day, hour to hour, and sometimes minute to minute.

There have been some really hard days where I cannot do a single thing except allow my body the rest it’s demanding as it grows this human being.

And I just wanted to say thank you SO so much, from the bottom of my heart, for all of you who have given me grace on days where I feel like total garbage and need to let my body rest.

Women are really incredible creations, and the support I have been shown is so appreciative and felt 🤍

Well hey hi hello!!!

I have been super MIA these last couple months - but life has just been moving a million miles a minute y’all.

Moving into a new studio, all the logistical components that go along with getting organized and settled, traveling to Cali for training, traveling to Florida to visit family, on top of other big things in my personal life have made me REALLY need a social media break.

Sometimes your plate is just simply too full, you know?

I haven’t really taken a social media “break”….ever. Since first starting my business, I’ve been crazy active on the ‘gram. And I still plan to be, but I think there’s something to be said for taking a step back when it necessary for your mental health.

In this season, I’ve just really needed to be putting ALL my energy into my work and my personal endeavors, and making sure I’m keeping my cup FULL to give the best of myself to all of you as well as others in my life!

But all is well and I LOVE the new studio!!!

If you haven’t gotten to see it yet, I can’t wait for you to get the chance 🙌

My availability is changing a little bit for the summertime and will be a little more limited, so please make sure you are reaching out in advance to book any future appointments, or making sure you are reserving before you leave your appointment!

I wasn’t lyin!

A lot of you know I have been on a JOURNEY the past year trying to find the next place for MONARQ to call home.

It has come with gnarly ups and downs - feelings of frustration, anger, confusion, sadness, and everything in between as I’ve tried so many different avenues and each one seeming to just not pan out the way I wanted it to.

With a lot of flexibility, patience, and prayer, there will be a new MONARQ location coming very soon!

The new space is located inside the brand new Sola Salon Studios in Lafayette - just about 10-15 minutes from my current spot!

It’s more than twice the size of my current lil’ room and I started moving a couple of things over there yesterday and YA’LL. It feels so open and just….so good. I can’t wait to bring all of you a more elevated experience that this bigger space will allow!

But that’s not the only surprise up my sleeve…more to come on that later 😉

Enjoyed a beautiful Easter with my lil fam yesterday!

We went to church and went out to lunch at our favorite spot, and I found myself thinking about how GRATEFUL I was at how much has changed since 2 years ago.

We were able to actually be around people, see their smiling faces, the energy was positive and high, and we got to sit down at our favorite restaurant and enjoy a meal together.

Small things that we would have taken advantage of just a few years ago before it was all put on pause.

So, it felt extra special and I felt a little extra joy! ☀️

2 years.

I remember exactly what I was doing - I was doing a workout in my basement because my gym had already been shut down. I had an alert on my phone for news updates because my worst fear was that at any moment I would be ordered to close my business as well.

The alert came through, and I fell to my knees mid workout.

It might seem selfish to some, considering everything that was on the line for so many people at that time, but it felt like my world had just crashed.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine I would experience something like that. I had no idea what was to come, and I was aware of how little control I had in the matter at the time.

I sobbed the whole drive to Boulder as I prepared to gather valuable items from my studio and lock the doors for 40 days, which then turned into 50 days.

I took this photo of my dark studio right before I walked away. And the second photo is a screenshot of the live video I did right after I received the alert of the order announcing to my clients the news.

I was petrified.

In my mind, everything I had worked so hard for was about to slip right through my fingers, through zero fault of my own. It felt like a hard, undeserving slap in the face.

I spent that lockdown wondering what was going to become of life as we knew it. If you had told me that so much more was about to unfold that would rock our society even more, I don’t think I would have been able to stomach it.

However,

Standing here 2 years later, I am so grateful. When I expected my business to crumble, it soared. When I expected my life to fall apart, it overflowed with blessings. When I expected to not be able to make it through, I’m standing here so much stronger of a person than I was going in.

I will forever remember this day as the day my world stopped spinning, and the day I had to make a choice to sink or swim.

And then I will celebrate myself for swimming.

Life is just too short.

I’m a firm believer that if there is something that would help you ENJOY yourself, or feel better about yourself, why the heck wouldn’t you check it out?

We only get a short amount of precious time, and we are meant to enjoy the time we have!
