🦋STOP wasting time on “miracle” remedies for hair growth or restoration.

When your hair has experienced damage, it can be tempting to want to fix it just as quickly as you noticed the problem. But the restoration process asks for patience, consistency, and time.

These photos document 7 months of progress not 7 mins or even 7 weeks. With continued care, healthier practices, and allowing the hair time to respond, the small changes add up.

Documenting the journey matters. Sometimes you’re looking in the mirror thinking, “Is anything even happening?”… until you look back at where you started. So if you’re currently restoring your hair, give your crown some grace. Stay consistent and pay attention to the small wins.

🦋Braids and extensions don’t have to be your go to for summer when you’re traveling! But it is understood. They are convenient and they are cute, but please take the steps to ensure you still have healthy hair and edges when you come out of these styles.•

Prepare your hair ahead of time with the appropriate treatments like protein to keep your strands strong. Hydration treatments to help strands stay moisturized. Scalp treatments to remove excessive buildup in the follicles and try to protect them from the tension. Use braiding hair like that won’t cause harm to your hair while these styles are in. Be careful pulling them in various ways while wearing. Lastly please don’t leave them styles in too long!•

Quick reminder: discuss with your service provider summer style options that can be worn without extensions if you need to refrain but want to be carefree during your travel! 🦋

🦋Someone once brought in an inspo pic from Pinterest of a style that was created here. Talking about “Can you do something like this?” Ma’am?? You don’t see that the background of this pic is the location you’re sitting in? LOL•

Jokes aside though, watermarking pics was done more in the past but it felt like it took away from the aesthetic of the picture because it would need to go across the style. Stepped away from it for that reason but what do y’all think, bring back watermarking or nah 🤔? 🦋

🦋Did you know that flexi-rods are illegal to do in North Carolina if you’re not a licensed cosmetologist? What was once a style that a person with a natural hair license could perform is now illegal.•

Flexi-Rods have been a style for many many years with varying results and techniques. They have become a great style for those transitioning out from relaxed hair. Or in this client’s case a style to work with while restoring lost elasticity to curls.

They’re great for stretching the hair without direct heat, help camouflage the difference between textures, can be done on locs, extensions, and AGAIN, you can also style them in various ways. When’s the last time you wore flexi rods?🦋
