Where haircuts and history come together

Looking back at this picture from 19 years ago today, I see more than a graduation from Barber College of South Central.
I see growth… a young man learning to take his responsibilities seriously.
I see grace… God guiding me, keeping me, and shaping me through every season.
I see gift… hands that were created for more than just cutting hair.
I now baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit 🙏🏽🕊️💧

8️⃣ years ago today, Shake Rag Barbershop was built on faith, filled with purpose, and fueled by sacrifice.
I’m thankful for every customer, every conversation, and every cut.
I’m also grateful for every barber, past and present, who helped shape the shop, serve the people, and add to the story.
What began with a vision has become something truly valuable.
8️⃣ years later, my heart is full and my gratitude is deep💈
I’m a flat-footed barber.
No filters.
No enhancements.
No dyes.
Just letting the craft speak for itself💈

Somewhere outside of Nashville—coming from Atlanta and headed to Indianapolis—Cody searched for the “best barbershop.”
The result? Shake Rag Barbershop.
He could have stopped in Nashville.
He could have waited until Indianapolis.
Instead, he exited for Bowling Green.
He chose us not because of convenience but because we’re consistent.
When you build a reputation the right way, people will reroute for it.
As parents, sometimes we don’t realize how our choices can place a heavy burden on a child at school, on the bus, or on the playground.
We believe expression is important — but let’s be honest, kids can be cruel at times.
As a barber, I see it often. When a little boy with long hair asks for a haircut, it’s always for the same reason: he wants to look like a boy.
While there’s no right or wrong decision — only what’s best for your child and what helps them feel confident and comfortable.
