We are coming up on 10 years of opening Scissor Sisters Salon! In some ways it feels like yesterday, in others like we’ve always been here. As we approach our coming anniversary, it is incredibly bittersweet for me to announce that we will be closing up shop this summer. We have loved being part of this community and are so grateful for the trust you’ve given us and the friends we’ve made.

Channy is moving back to the Bitterroot, and Megan is focusing on different business ventures. We are so truly grateful to have gotten to know and serve so many different people in the Gallatin Valley over the last decade. We will miss seeing you and wish you all the best!

We were too tired to post last night... But here she is!

Our new family member Desiree Blair Topp! 🖤 She was born April 24 at 10:06pm and she weighed 7lbs. 13oz. and was 20 inches long.

She's doing great and we can't wait to take her home tomorrow morning! 😊🖤

We are opening again next week!

We are so excited to get back to work and see you!

The following outlines the additional measures we will be taking to protect both ourselves and our clients during the continuation of the pandemic.

The State issued the following recommendations to:

*Screen customers prior to appointment for symptoms of fever, shortness of breath or a cough. Customers that have any of these symptoms must be rescheduled.
*Utilize a face mask for staff and for customers when practical.
*Stylist / artist / service-provider and customer would be a “station” that would be 6 feet away from other “stations”.
*Provide for 6 feet of physical distancing between stations, this may require:
A reduction in capacity;
Increasing spacing, removing stations, or marking stations as closed;
Providing for a physical barrier between stations;
A reduction of seating in service and waiting areas; or
Systems that reduce the amount of contact time between customers and staff.

We ask that clients please consider these recommendations and only come in when feeling well. Please only come in if you have been personally practicing social distancing measures, along with having no signs of sickness. Be considerate of all our clients by taking the necessary precautions.

We also request your assistance by doing the following:
*Bring only those with appointments into the salon as much as is possible.
*Try to be as close to on time for your appointment as possible, to limit overlap with other customers.
*Be respectful of us and your fellow clients by giving at least 24 hours’ notice for haircut cancellation/rescheduling and 3 days’ notice for color cancellation/rescheduling. When so many people need in, this will ensure that we can serve as many people as possible. Of course, there are exceptions for emergencies and illness.
*To begin with at least, we request that clients wear face masks, as will we. If this proves impossible to do for certain services (like lip waxes) we will make adjustments, but we’d like to try to follow protocol as much as possible and will be requesting this temporarily.

Because of all these additional measurements we are being required to take in our industry, as well as the time and product required to take them, we will be slightly raising our prices to accommodate for the lost service income this will result in for us.

ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED OR WHO HAS LEFT A TEXT MESSAGE OR VOICEMAIL WHILE WE WERE CLOSED WILL BE CONTACTED BY THE END OF NEXT WEEK TO BE SCHEDULED. We will do our best to fit you all in as quickly as we can. Our hours may be slightly atypical to begin with, in order to serve as many clients as we can in a safe manner. We will be extending our appointment times to ensure only one client per stylist is in at a time and to allow time for disinfecting between each client.

FOR NEW APPOINTMENTS, please TEXT or call us at (406) 219-7606 and we will schedule you as soon as we can. We will NOT ALLOW ONLINE BOOKING THROUGH THE END OF SUMMER. We know this is inconvenient for many of you, just as it is for ourselves. However, it is the only way that we can prevent exposure in the salon either to travelers who haven’t self-quarantined as required or to any sick clients. This also lets us most accurately space our clients according to how long they take and to give the time needed in between clients to clean.

Texts are easiest for us to respond to more quickly, especially for Megan’s clients (since my daycare is still closed and I’m stuck with my children all day).

We will also be TEMPORARILY TAKING NEW CLIENTS BY REFERRAL ONLY, as continued protection against unnecessary exposure for ourselves and our clients.

We apologize for the inconveniences caused by all these changes and anxiously wait for when things will go back closer to normal. But that being said, we are so excited and grateful to be able to get back to work!

We hope you’re all well and look forward to seeing many of you soon!
