Sondance Design Leather

The scent, the buttery feel, the subtle shades, the combinations of texture, color and practicality intrigue me and challenge me to explore more ways to create. I am a former theatrical costumer and set designer deciding to use my talents to create and design leather goods and clothing using deerhide, elkskin, buffalohide, goatskin, cowhide and sheep/lambskin. I consider leather to be an all-around meduium for utiliitarian items as well as for my artistic wanderings. I enjoy creating 'from scratch' as well as 'repurposing' old leather items. Leather has been with us for a long time, lasting in use in it's functionality and beauty. Recently I have been exploring leather as a medium in other artforms. Hand-stitched or hand-laced bags, pillows, boxes, book covers, furniture coverings, clothing, etc,. some leather tooling, some fur, some braiding. Custom work is available by special order. I have fair prices and a huge imagination to design something very unique for you!
