Let’s talk grey coverage - she didn’t want to blend - some people hate those peskys ..

She also wanted to give it a little more- as you can see she had a long grow out from her previous foils - they were 6 months old - and started to turn a bit brassy.

Instead of bleach, I used a permanent color with zero ammonia.
8/31 with 30v and intentional placement especially around her hairline so when the greys grow in, she is lighter in that area which can help mask and not look so heavy.

I love using this technique because it actually cuts through some of the old color ( I know color doesn’t color) but it does actually cut through a little bit because we didn’t want to make her blonde. We wanted to give her some lightness and make it look dimensional but also keep her warm.

This is the perfect technique in placement for ladies that only want to do foils bumped up to levels and can continue to do gray coverage every 4-6 disturbing the foil placement.

Grey hair!! The 👿-
But it’s not for everybody, some people embrace it, some people want to blend it and some people want to cover it at the first sight. Which are you?

I’ve learned that grey blending can be done to preserve integrity of the hair and mask the grey with intentional blonde placement. Just like people, no one is the same; the same it goes for heads. This is where intentional placement comes in. I have to see the shape of your head, the pattern of your grey and is it possible to mask it so that the blend and the cover and the grow out gives you longevity, shine and the coverage YOU want. If that’s the case, we don’t need permanent color. This gives it a soft transition that naturally fades.

Just a little chop and melt today -

We obviously know what the “chop” means but what’s a melt??? 🤷🏻‍♀️

A color melt or rootmelt is a technique that blurs the lines of a very grown out foil , and it melts it into another that can shift the tone of the bottom color.
As you can see in this case, we melted, her roots, blurred the line, but kept her brighter at the bottom. She still wanted to be blonde, but we wanted to go a little easier take out the warmer tones and leave it with an easier grow out. There’s no additional blonding just melted into a nice easy transition.
This will give her an extra 6 to 8 weeks until she comes for her summer hair.

If you don’t want to be a slave to the chair, this is something that you can do 2 to 3 times a year
