Tretinoin is NOT a trend. 😭
Friends… I am seeing a MAJOR increase in damaged skin barriers from the improper and/or excessive use of tretinoin because social media convinced everyone they needed prescription-strength products overnight. 👀
Peeling, burning, redness, sensitivity, irritation, breakouts, and compromised skin barriers are NOT signs that your skincare is “working harder.” 😭
Here’s the truth:
✨ Not everyone needs tretinoin
✨ Not every skin barrier is healthy enough for tretinoin
✨ More product does NOT equal better results
When used improperly, tretinoin can absolutely do more harm than good — especially without proper hydration, SPF use, and barrier support.
Please stop letting TikTok University diagnose your skin. 😂
A healthy skin barrier ALWAYS comes first before incorporating strong active ingredients into your routine.
