One thing I will stand behind! Deep pressure is not deep tissue!
Deep tissue is working in between the layers of tissue to allow for better movement as a whole. Deep pressure can cause tissue damage and pain, which then makes clients not trust their therapist.
One of the most common misconceptions clients bring into a session is that deep tissue means as much pressure as possible.
Real deep tissue work is about accessing specific layers of muscle with the right technique, not just pushing harder. The therapists who understand this protect their bodies, get better results, and have clients who actually feel better the next day instead of just sore.
